Row 2 Ch 2 (counts as first hdc now and throughout), hdc in each sc across. Ch 2: turn. Rows 3-36 repeat row 2. Row 37 Ch 1, sc in next 14 st, ch 10 (for button loop), sc in next st and in remaining st across. Finishing Fold in half, matching stitches and rows and using matching yarn, you can either sl st or whipstitch sides together. Weave in all ends. Button Leaving 10� for sewing, ch 3; join with sl st to form ring. Rnd 1 Ch 1; 8 sc in ring; join in 1st sc. Rnd 2 (right side) ch 1; working over previous rnd, work 12 sc in ring; join with sl st to 1st sc. Finish off. Thread needle with 10� end and weave through back of sc, pull to close center of ring and secure end. Sew in place in center of row 1 of purse, aligning with button loop.
