I miss the merriment of earlier days,
The fun and the frolic of simpler ways,
The high seas adventures I won't see again.
I miss hearing stories that make me laugh,
I miss singing songs that came out
Way back when.
I miss tea parties and class room fights,
And phone conversations that last all night,
I miss being real in a world of pretend.
I miss the cuddles, the giggles and cheers,
The misty-eyed moments that melt into tears,
The corny old poems...like this one.
Ah, well, then ...
I think I just missed my friend.
