HIGHLIGHTS OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR CY 1998
I. RELOCATION OF SASA PAROLA SQUATTERS
This special project is 50% completed as of year-end with the physical move-out of 250 relocatees. Some 100 more remian to be relocated pending further coordination with the city government.
II. PORT FACILITIES REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE (R/M)
Completed as of year end are four (4) port facilities repair and maintenance projects with an aggregate cost of P4.076M. Area of coverage are Sasa Baseport, Sta. Ana Extension Office and Mati Terminal Office. Also incorporated in these projects is the continuing government-wide clean and green program.
III. PORT MANAGEMENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (PMAC)
PMAC was reactivated in June 1998. A second council meeting was held in September. A year-end meeting was scrapped due to budgetary constraints. A follow-up intervention will be scheduled for the 1st semester of 1999.
IV. STA. ANA PORT DEVELOPMENT - PIER I
Several proposals for the development of the condemned Pier 1 were received for evaluation and endorsement to higher management. Among these are the Gingerbread Corporation, the Landco Asset Management, Inc. and Sta. Ana Realty represented by Atty. Timothy Te.
V. REVENUE GENERATION
As of year-end, the PMO was able to generate income totalling P151.585M compared to 1997 figure of P137.275M.

VII. MARITIME WEEK CELEBRATION
Celebrated the Maritime Week in September in close coordination with concerned government and non-government agencies and entities.
