The cost for lunch and tennis will be $8.00 per person.  Please get your signup and fee to us by April 29.  It makes it so much easier for our volunteers to plan food and set up the draw.  Thank you in advance.

The weather held out for The Wearing of the Green Tournament and it was a big success.  Thank you Dennis DeCant, Patti Couch and Bob Mayrend for heading this up.  The winner of the seeded players was Dick Thompson.  Winner of non-seeded players was Dwaine Carver.  Good going guys.

A vote was taken at our March quarterly meeting about tournament participation.  The club membership voted that participants in all our tournaments should be a Racquet Club member.

Quarterly Meeting

Our March 8 quarterly meeting was held at the Country Club with a lovely meal.  Thank you Patti Couch for your work in getting this set up. 

Mark your calendar for our next quarterly meeting, Tuesday, June 7 at the Lake Lodge.  After a potluck, we will have our business meeting followed by assignment of teams for the upcoming Davis Cup Tournament.  A flier will be sent out closer to that event.

 By-law changes

One of the items  of discussion at our next meeting will be changes to our By-Laws.  A quorum is needed for the transaction of this business (a presence in person of 34% of the regular membership).  Be ready to vote on the following:

·         Change the number of officers from six to five with two members being elected each year instead of three. As the By-Laws currently state, each elected officer will still hold office for a period of two consecutive years.

·         The wording of our qualifications for membership will change from needing to be a PML Property Owner in good standing, to needing to be eligible to qualify for an annual tennis pass through PML Administration.

Drop-In Tennis

Our Monday morning drop-in is being enjoyed by many.  Please keep showing up to keep it going. 

Bill Broderson and Joy Thompson are working on a Saturday drop-in that will be made available to all property owners to encourage more tennis and membership.  More information will be available at our meeting.

Gathering Place

The Gathering Place is holding a charity Cinco party on May 5.  Since we will be having our own Cinco party, we will miss it – BUT we can still support the building fund by purchasing raffle tickets for the Great Balloon ride (a ride over Napa Valley – or $350 cash)  You don’t have to be there to win.  Tickets sell 1 for $2, 3 for $5 or 7 for $10.  For tickets call Barb Elliott (962-6457).
