The cost for this will be $3.00 per person.  Please get your signup and fee to us by June 3 so the draw can be ready for handout at our quarterly meeting on June 7 at the Lake Lodge.

Cinco DeMayo We didn’t let rain stop us.  Dick and Jo Thompson offered their home and everyone who could met there for a party.  We even celebrated Patti Couch’s birthday, which just happened to be on that very day.  The tennis half of the party was held on May 11.  The weather was beautiful and we finished the food and drinks while playing fun rounds of tennis.  The winner of the seeded players was Barbara Davis.  Joy Thompson and Gene Patterson tied for first in the non-seeded division.  Twice the fun was had by all.

     And of course, thank you, thank you, thank you to the committee – Judy Maguire, Patti Couch, Dennis DeCant, Jane Reynolds, and Barbara Davis.  And thank you again Dick and Jo for letting us use their home.

Tuesday Night BBQ Socials  Our first Tuesday Night BBQ Social will be June 14 with the BBQ fired up to serve hamburgers at 5:00.  There will be tennis afterwards.  This will go through August 30.  This is a fun time and open to members and non-members.  We need helpers so be ready to volunteer.  Call Barbara Davis at 962-5033 to reserve your spot.

Restroom at Court 5 and 6  The restroom was burned down at Courts 5 and 6.  It has been reported that it will be replaced right away.

 By-law changes

Again, one of the items of discussion at our June 7 quaraterly  meeting will be changes to our By-Laws.  A quorum is needed for the transaction of this business (a presence in person of 34% of the regular membership).  Be ready to vote on the following:

·         Change the number of officers from six to five with two members being elected each year instead of three. As the By-Laws currently state, each elected officer will still hold office for a period of two consecutive years.

·         The wording of our qualifications for membership will change from needing to be a PML Property Owner in good standing, to needing to be eligible to qualify for an annual tennis pass through PML Administration.

·         Add to the President and Vice President’s job description the task of appointing an Historian to keep records of our club each year.

Quarterly Meeting

Mark your calendar for our next quarterly meeting, Tuesday, June 7 at the Lake Lodge.  After a potluck, we will have our business meeting followed by assignment of teams for the upcoming Davis Cup Tournament.

New Hours for making Reservations

Court reservation hours have been changed from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. one week prior to the day you want to reserve.   Example; if you want to reserve a court on a Monday, you can call on Sunday, the week before, starting at 8:00 p.m.  The gate is instructed to take only one reservation per phone call and not to put calls on hold while waiting for the magic hour.
