| Review The sequel to the hit game 'Red Alert', Westwood once again delivers an excellent game for the PC. The story entails the Soviet Leader Premier Romonov, under the influence of his right hand man 'Yuri' attempts to invade the United States of America and ultimately the world. Featuring actors such as Ray Wise as President Dugan and Kari Wuhrer (Some may recognise her from the TV show 'Sliders') as special agent Tanya. Red Alert 2's Gameplay is of high standard as expected and includes a few upgrades from the traditional 'Command and Conquer' series. One of these new features includes cinematic transmission being given during gameplay. This feature greatly enhances the involvement of the player in the campaign. The only problems I had with the game is the lack of Modem to Modem play. As of date only Internet gaming on Westwood Online and Network play is available. However, the multplayer options do partly make up for this it is still disapointing. There are many different types of games to play online. Even a special multiplayer campaign is included. Overall, Red Alert 2 is an excellent sequel to a classic game. This game will provide hours and hours of fun for the whole family. For those Red Alert fanatics there is also a collectors edition which includes the making of the game cd and soundtrack of all music included as well as a figurine. |
