People who work, train and enjoy a
particular activity together form a unique bond. Almost automatically they have
a feeling of camaraderie and a basis for mutual understanding. Batch of 2000
has been no different to this rule. We have shared our lives with people who
were total strangers and we have watched these strangers transform into
trusting and loving friends. It is in the loving memory of all the good times
that we shared that I present to you the Year Book Session 2000.
We came together on the 15th
of January. 250 bright students all focussed to serve humanity. To honour
themselves, to honour their parents and to honour their nation. And as we progressed
from that cold foggy day to this moment, one cannot but smile at the
remembrance of the time passed. May it be the formalin of the dissection hall
or may it be Dr. Ikram’s stubbornness on making us wear the uniform. May it be
the stunning of frogs in Physiology or may it be the greasy Samosas of the Cafe. May it be the sense
of relief when the proxy was never caught or may it be the embarrassment as the
Professor thrashed you when you’re proxy was actually caught. May it be the
filling of admission forms or may it be the burning of those same forms. May it
be the forensic day or may it be a sabotaged class anniversary. May it be day
or may it be night, in the end the decision for PMC was actually right.
The batch of 2000 is like a bunch of
flowers. It has a variety of the genius, the dedicated workers, the dynamic
strugglers, the immensely motivated, the decent, the not so decent, the
submissive, the mischievous and the friendly.
And now as we stand over-whelmed in
awe of our magnificent journey. We suddenly realize that it was not about who
won or who lost but it was all about who raised you on their shoulders in every
victory and those who consoled you in every defeat. Its about getting up when
you’re down, its about togetherness and team work. As we go our separate ways,
we take with us the fragrance of the memory of all the days well spent.
