'El  Me

Heyy everyone! This is the section to learn more about the site owner, which would be me. So here goes:

*I am me.

*My first name is Brooke:

*and my second name is Marie (my parents were not very creative in the middle-name

department)

*I am 14 years old,

* and was born in October.

*I enjoy art.

*which would include...web design, writing, music, painting, movies, theater, etc

* I write at Virtual Lives.  This is a huge obsession.

*When I get older I would like to:

1. be a wife and mother

2. write

3. make movies

*ever since I was old enough to watch and appreciate good motion pictures, I have always

thought "I can do that". Watching special features on dvd's or tv shows about the process

behind making a movie gives me goosebumps. It is something I think I could do, and do good.

*This also makes me quite critical while watching movies. I can't help thinking thoughts like

"They shouldn't have done that" or "They should have done it this way" or "He should have

said this instead."

* I am a music junkie

*I play three instruments piano, cello, and guitar.

*My music is often what keeps me going through the day.

*I could not live without aim, blurty, or kazaa

*although I have been forced to live without the third for some time now *sniff*

*I have been playing babyz off and on since early 2001.

*I could also not live without: Thrift stores,  peanut butter, jeans, books stores, notebooks,

SNL, beaches, or Cherry Pepsi.

Virtual Lives

the first. the original. the paramount. 

haha sorry, VL is a bit of a (meaning HUGE) obsession. I love that place. So I though I'd dedicate

a whole section of the "about me" page to it. 

*what is virtual lives?

Virtual Lives or "VL" is the place for you if you enjoy writing. It is also the place for you if you 

enjoy reading superb writing and meeting amazing, exciting, and intelligent young authors.

Basically what you do is, first choose characters, and then...write about them.

What makes VL so great though, is it's unique cross between rp (role playing) and novel-writing.

Like rp, your story is told through several posts over a looooong period of time, and there is

no real end. You are also able to interact with other people's characters. However in VL

you have a bit more freedom, the posts are more planned out then role-playing. You are able to 

write other people's character's, and can change your writing from post to post; changing

character point of views, and  the style in which your write (example: third person, first person, 

flashbacks, present or past tense, serious posts, light-hearted-comedic posts, artsy posts, etc.)

For these reasons and many more, VL is one of my favorite places to hang online. 

*who are your characters?

Who are my characters? Well, I am soo glad you asked (hehe). I have fallen in love with my 

characters over the long time I have been writing them, and I'd be honored to introduce them

to you. Although if you want to really "get to know" them, you had better go read my posts. 

Brooke Porter

Brooke is a dreamer, a writer, and a mother. She has had a rocky past. She lived with her

Grandparents growing up, and now lives in Boston with her 3 year old son Tysen. 

Tysen Porter

Tysen is a delightful and mischievous little boy. He is quite shy with strangers, but as bubbly

as can be with people he knows. He likes to draw, and is quite thoughtful for a boy his age.

Cole Jenkins

Cole comes from a family of 8 children. He is a bit reserved and in the midst of all his friends

and family he has always felt like the background guy, or the sidekick. He was best

friends with Daniel and Brooke as a teenager.

Daniel Enderlin 

I have just started writing about Daniel, although he has been mentioned several times in my

posts. He was best friends with Cole and Brooke as a teenager. I will say no more about him yet,

let me write him first.
