The cold floor felt smooth against his cheek.

Curled up in a ball, Josh tried to ignore his pounding headache and the pain behind his eyelids.

It was a stupid move on his part. A culmination of wrong turns and false hopes. It shouldn�t have ended this way, but it had.

The resignation letter was on Leo�s desk, waiting for his perusal in the morning. It was done at last.

Josh had never felt so completely lost. Donna had given him that crooked smile afterwards, that smile that spoke volumes.

He didn�t take her lifeline though and chose alcohol instead.
