The star had blinked.
Lance was sure of it.
He may have been going crazy.
That was a possibility.
But, no, there it went again.
Blinking and twinkling and winking.
It made him feel safe.
It filled him with wonder, a feeling he hadnt experienced in a long time.
He leaned farther back on the hood of his car.
He wanted the best view of the world he would soon be inhabiting.
Or rather space.
He found he couldnt breathe properly. He felt slightly dizzy and spellbound.
That was okay.
He liked feeling off-kilter.
It meant he wasnt on then.
He existed in the moment.
And he was fine with that.
Lance wrapped his jacket tighter around his body. He dug his hands into the pockets and played with the lint inside.
There it went again.
Blinking down at him.
Lance smiled.
For the moment, he was content.
