===================================================

     Richard, with two brothers, one of whom was probably named Presley, a native of England, sailed to America from Wales, arriving in Virginia about 1732.  He first settled in Goochland County (now Buckingham County) around 1740, then moved to Orange County and later to Albermarle County.  In 1761 he purchased land from William Wood on the headwaters of Mechum's River, and in 1773 he purchased additional land from Samuel Stockton on the Virgin Spring Branch of Mechum's River.  He owned approximately 1,000 acres and several slaves.  Some of the earliest nurseries in the county were planted by members of this family and on this account the name was well known in connection with the cultivation of fruit.  Some descendents are still living on portions of this land today.  A small creek running through the property is called Dollens Run.
     The name Dollins was later spelled Dollens by some descendents and today both spellings are used by the descendents of Richard, although Dollins is much more frequently used.
     Richard listed 4 children in his will: Ann, Presley, John and William.  Nothing is known of Ann [at present].  William and John died in 1783 and 1787, respectively, while Presley lived will into the 1830's.  Richard died in 1774.  His wife Elizabeth was living in 1784.

===============================================

In 1744 court records, Orange County, Virginia, Book 4, page 273.  Mentions Richard Dollings. Presley Dollings [Dollins] also misspelled in 1750 court record.  Names appeared as Dollins in all later records.  This is the earliest record found on Richard Dollin[g]s.---

Notes for Presley Dollings:
The following data was taken from "Descendants of Richards Dollins of Albemarle County, Virginia" authored by Williams, M. Coburn (Miles Coburn).  This document in on microfilm at the LDS-FHL under Film #928617 Item 5, which can be ordered through a local LDS-FHC for your viewing.--

     Presley was born 9 July 1751 in Orange Co., VA.  He moved with his family to Albermarle Co. before 1761 and eventually succeeded to the land purchased by his father in 1761.  (The land purchased in 1773 was willed to John and William.)  He married Ruth Alexander and raised a large family.
     On 7 June 1832, Congress passed a bill providing for pensions for veterans of the Revolutionary War.  On 23 Oct 1832, in Fayetteville, TN, Presley filed the following petition for a pension based on his service during the Rev. War.  In part it reads:

     "State of Tennessee on this 23rd day of October in Lincoln County in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-two personally appeared in open court before Abner Steed, Jesse Daniel and Samuel Buchanan, Gentlemen Justices of the court of pleas and quarter sessions for Lincoln Co., now sitting Presely Dollins, a resident of the county of Lincoln and state of Tennessee, aged 81 years who first being duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the act of Congress passed June 7th, 1832 that he entered the service of the United States under the following named officers and served as herein stated, that in the spring of the year 1779 he was drafted for the term of two months to assist in bringing the Burgoyne prisoners from Charlottesville to the barracks in Albermarle Co., VA.  A man by the name of Allhuler (?) was Captain at Charlottesville after the prisoners were received.  At the barracks he was commanded by Captain Miller.  Daniel Harvey was his colonel. He continued to guard the prisoners until his time expired and he was discharged by Captain Miller.  In the year 1781 he was drafted again for a term of two months.  His Captain was James Woods.  A man by the name of Richardson was Col. of the first regiment of Virginia Militia to which the applicant belonged.  The Brigade was commanded my Gen. Nelson.  They marched to Richmond and through different parts of the state of Virginia after the British.  Some timesthe British would run them and at other times they would make the British retreat.  After his term of service expired he was discharged about seven miles below Louisa Court House in the state of Virginia.  This applicant did not receive any written discharge for this term.
     "On the 28th day of July 1781 he was again drafted for a term of two months.  Major John Mortin lead the squad from Albermarle Co., VA to Mobbins Hills on James River in the same state where they joined the great army commanded by General Nelson and did not remain there long before this applicant was detached from the great army and commanded by strange officers.  He does not know any of their names except Col. Matthews who commanded a regiment at Duncastle about 12 miles above Williamsburg in Virginia.  He stayed at Duncastle some days when he was taken sick and sent to the hospital at Williamsburg.  He remained there a short time and his term of service expired and he was discharged by a written discharge from General George Washington who at that time was commander in Chief of the American Army.  He has since lost it and also the discharge he received from Captain Miller he has lost.  He was born in Orange County, Virginia on the 9th day of July 1751.  He believes he has always had a record of his age taken from his father's Bible until some few years ago. He thinks he lost it at all the difficult times he was called into service.  He was living in Albermarle County, state of Virginia and has lived there since the war until about twenty years ago he moved to Lincoln County, Tennessee where he now lives."

     [Researcher's note:  His final discharge about 28 Sep 1781 coincides with the beginning of the siege of Yorktown, the final battle of note in the Revolutionary War.  George Washington would have been in or near Williamsburg at this time.]

     Presley Dollins was granted a sum of $50.00 upon entering the pension rolls and an annual pension of $20.00 thereafter.

     Most of Presely's children emigrated to Lincoln Co., TN between 1800 and 1810.  His wife Ruth was alive in 1810 but died before 1820, probably between 1810 and 1812.  Presely then moved, about 1812, to Lincoln Co., TN to spend his remaining years among his children and grandchildren.  According to census data, he spent his declining years with a widowed daughter.  He died between 1836 and 1840, and is probably buried in Lincoln Co., TN.  His son David moved on to Illinois about 1820.  Joel, Hugh, and Taliaferro married and raised large families in Tennessee.

===============================================

     David Dollings was probably born during the American Revolution in Albermarle Co., VA, a few miles west of Charlottesville.  After his marriage in 1797 he lived a few years near his father-in-law, then emigrated to Tennessee between 1800 and 1810.  He probably lived in Lincoln Co., TN with his father and brothers for more than 10 years, then moved to Franklin Co., IL about 1820 or shortly thereafter.  Of his children, only James and Achilles survived to marry and leave descendents.
     David's son Achilles was the first settler to purchase land in Benton Twp.  David purchased land from the United States government in 1836.  Between 1828 and 1839, Achilles purchased at least 240 acres and David 120 acres in Benton Twp.  All of these purchases were from the government for virgin land [at about $1.25 to $2.00 per acre) and are recorded in the Original Entry Book in the office of the County Clerk and Recorder, Benton, IL.  David's farm remained in the Dollings family over 100 years; his son, grandson, and great-grandson [through James] lived on the farm in succession.
     David and his wife were listed in the census of 1840 and their ages were given as between 60 and 70.  Both died about 1844, Nelly first.  Achilles died in 1846, leaving a widow and 10 children.  James died 7 January 1860, leaving a widow and 3 children.  The grave of James is located in the old cemetery one mile from the ancestral home of David Dollings.  His parents, brothers, and sister are probably buried there also, but their resting places have not been found.

Obituary taken from the ZANESVILLE WEEKLY TIMES-RECORDER of 2-7-1901:

FIVE GENERATIONS

Yesterday at Asbury Chapel, William DOLLINGS was interred.  He was almost 90 years of age at the time of his death.  He was born in Virginia, August 16, 1811.  For seventy years he was a resident of Muskingum County, living for that length of time on the homestead at Opera post office.
     A sunshiny disposition made him beloved by all who knew him.  The oldest living residents say that in their memory they never knew of him being at enmity with a neighbor.
     His death occurred at White Cottage, January 28, 1901.  The funeral exercises were conducted by Rev. V.G. Hostetter of this city.
     In 1831 he was married to Eliza MARTIN.  Of this union were born thirteen children, seven boys and six girls, nine of whom are living.  There are fifty-one grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild who survived him.  Mr. Dollings became a Christian in 1867.  He was a charter member of the church at Kent's run.
     Whatever was his lot he always was contented and to this, with his happy disposition, is in part attributed his longevity.---

     Priscilla was born in Illinois 8 years before it became a state and died in the spring of 1870 after bearing 14 children to two husbands.  She outlived 6 of her 11 children with Achilles Dollins.  Roland Daniel died about a month after his wife.
     Priscilla was the daughter of Joseph Estes, one of the first white men to enter Franklin Co., IL.  In 1804, eleven men, all related, and among them Joseph Estes, came from Smith Co., TN, and built a fort and blockhouse.  From the time of the building of the fort until about the year 1815, the settlers made little or no attempt to cultivate the soil, subsisting almost entirely on wild game and honey.  Missouri records mention the marriage of Catherine Miller to Joseph Estes.  She was the daughter of John and Martha Clay Miller who migrated from Lincoln Co., NC in 1804 and established the town of Millersville in western Cape Girardeau Co., MO.[Moore2.FTW]

Notes for John Wilkins:  Text taken from:  http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~tfisher/fphperrybiow.htm

"WILKINS, JOHN, farmer; post office, Mount Perry; was born in 1816, in Frederick county, Virginia; son of James, Jr., and grandson of James, Sr., who was an English soldier; and in consequence of a severe wound in one of the battles of the Revolution, never again returned to his native country, but remained in Virginia, where he married a  Highland Scotch wife, who became the mother of an only child, James  Wilkins, Jr. This James was by tradition entitled to an estate in England, which was lost by the slackness of the laws then in force, and the infancy of the only heir in America, which heir perhaps was entirely unknown, on the false supposition that James, Sr., had died without heirs.
     The father of John Wilkins was a soldier in the War of 1812; the husband of Hannah Roberts, whom he married about the beginning of the present century; a superintendent of a large Virginia plantation, at a good salary for many years; the owner of a few slaves there, at the death of one of whom, John cried bitterly as having lost a kind nurse.  In 1830 the Wilkins family came to Perry county, and a few years later to Muskingum county, where James, the father, died, at the age of eighty-five years. He was a man of remarkable physical endurance, and in his eightieth year, could plow, sow and reap. Mother Wilkins survived her husband only a few years. Her children were Nancy, the wife of Joseph, and the mother of Nathan Plank, who after the death of her husband became the wife of Joseph Snyder, and died as such in Hopewell township; Charles and Mary, of Lawrence county, Ohio; William, White Cottage, Ohio; Joseph, Lytlesburg, Ohio; Theodore, Lima, Ohio; Rev. Llewellyn, of the New Light belief; and two children, deceased, in Muskingum county. In 1839, John Wilkins was married to Mary, daughter of John Bowser.  He soon settled where he now lives, section thirteen, Hopewell, and where some of the soil on his farm has been under cultivation for sixty consecutive years, and the last crop of corn measured over one hundred bushels to the acre. It thus supports its fertility by alluvial deposit, and by its natural strength.  Their children are eight in number, all living, except Mary, deceased wife of Samuel Bowman, Arcola, Illinois; Leroy, farmer, post office same; James, John T., Eliza, wife of Samuel Bowman, and Abraham, post office, Mount Perry, Ohio; Ann Maria, wife of Daniel Siberds, and Emanuel, post office, North Manchester, Indiana. These sons and daughters are all comfortably situated, and some of them growing wealthy. Five of the sons weigh 1,160 pounds, the lightest of whom is nearly 200. The mother was a large, handsomely sized woman; the father has weighed 180 pounds; head twenty-two and one-fourth inches, health good, habits temperate, but not abstemious from stimulants. After the death of his wife in 1879, Mr. Wilkins was married to Mrs. Delilah Stine, in 1881, whose maiden name was Dollings; of Scotch and English parentage, and whose father was a native of Virginia, and whose mother was a native of Kentucky. By her first husband, John Creighton Stine, she had two sons, both married; one a teacher and the other a potter by occupation.  She alleges that her grandfather, Slover, was a Tory in the Revolution, and that her father fought on the American side, in 1812. At this second marriage, she and her children were welcomed to the Wilkins home by all of Mr. Wilkins' sons and  daughters, who reside in the vicinity.

===============================================

James J. Dollins, the second child of Priscilla and Achilles Dollins, was born 9 May 1832 on his family's farm in Benton Twp., Franklin Co., IL.  On 27 May 1852 he married Susan Ann Hartley, in Jefferson Co., IL.  Susan's father was also a minister and it was he who married them.  Her family, except for her youngest brother, had been born in Kentucky and had moved to Illinois between 1841 and 1845.
     James was a farmer and, between 1857 and 1861, was County Clerk of Franklin County.  He is listed in the 1860 census together with his wife and five children.
     He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 64 in Benton, taking his initial apprentice degree 25 Aug 1860, his fellow-craft degree 28 Oct 1860, and his masters degree on 18 Nov 1860.
     In 1862 James was appointed a Colonel in the Union Army and assumed command of the 81st Illinois Volunteers, comprised of approximately 1200 enlisted mand and officers, which was recruited and mustered in at Anna, Illinois, on 26 Aug 1862.  The companies came mostly from the vicinity of DuQuoin, Murphysboro, Pinckneyville, Jonesboro, Garbondale, Fredonia, Marion, Villa Ridge, Cobden, and Tamaroa.
     The regiment moved to Cairo and on the 8th of October to the army in the field in Tennessee and on November 1st it went to Humboldt, TN, where Col. Dollins was placed in command of the post on direct orders from Gen. Ulysses S. Grant.  From here it joined the Northern Mississippi campaign, proceeding as far south as Abbeville and after the fall of Holly Springs it marched in Memphis, where it arrived on 19 Jan 1863.
     The regiment crossed the Mississippi river at Bruinsburg, MS, on May 1st and was engaged in battle at Port Gibson.  It also fought in the Batle of Raymond on May 12th and participated in the capture of Jackson on May 14th, and the Battle of Champion's Hill on May 16th.  On the 19th of May it reached the investing line against the defenses of Vicksburg and went into position a short distance to the south and west of the Jackson Road, where it operated throughout the siege.
     The Union generals, overconfident after the relatively easy victories at Jackson and Champion's Hill, greatly underestimated the determination of the Confederate forces and the strength of the fortifications ringing Vicksburg.  In a bloody but futile assault on 22 May 1863, the Union army attempted to take Vicksburg by storm but were repulsed with heavy losses.  Among those who fell that day was Col. James J. Dollins, killed by a gunshot wound in the head.  Union casualties reached 10,000 before the city fell on 4 Jul 1863, after a prolonged siege.  The Illinois 81st, which lost heavily inthe May 22 assult, was one of the regiments ordered to the Court House to take possession of the city.
     Despite the high number of battle casualties, disease, not bullets or the sword, wrought the greatest mortality in the military ranks of the day.  The Illinois 81st lost 74 men killed or mortally wounded in the Civil War, but 295 died of disease.
     The body of Col. Dollins was returned to Benton, IL, where it rests in the Veterans Cemetery.
     The following account of the last photograph taken of Col. James J. Dollins is recorded on page 71 of "Illinois at Vicksburg":

          "In our endeavor to obtain the pictures of the Colonels from Illinois that commanded brigades during the Vicksburg campaign we published an announcement in the National Tribune of Washington, DC, that we desired such pictures.  This was read in the City of Mexico by Capt. J.J. Fitzgerrell, who became the Adjutant of the 81st Illinois Volunteers during the Vicksburg campaign, and who has been domiciled in Mexico for many years.  He sent us this picture of Col. Dollins [in his picture file], with its interesting story:

          "A day or two before Logan's Division left Milliken's Ben, some camp follower established a 'picture gallery' on the banks of the Mississippi River.  Colonel Dollins on April 17th had an ambrotype taken in this place which was never delivered to him by the photographer.  The march of the Vicksburg campaign began a day or two after;  Colonel Dollins, after participating in all of the operations and most of the battles of the campaign, was killed on May 22nd, while gallantly leading his regiment, the 81st, in the
assault of that day.
          "On December 9, 1864, Captain Fitzgerrell was taken prisoner by Gen. Hood in his opertions against Nashville, Tennessee, and so also was Col. Robert Buchanan of the 7th Missouri, which regiment was brigaged with the 81st during the Vicksburg campaign.  These officers were taken to Fort Donelson under a flag of truce, and sent to a parole camp at Benton Barracks, Missouri.  Here Captain Fitzgerrell was assigned to duty as Adjutant-General on the staff of the commanding officer.
          "An officer of the 7th Missouri was in command of one of the camps for Confederate prisoners in St. Louis.  In this a prisoner arrived, captured in Missouri during General Price's raid into that state in the fall of 1864.  In examining the person of this prisoner, the 7th Missouri officer found upon him this amprotype picture of Col. Dollins, who he recognized at once.
          "In explanation, the prisoner said that he had been a member of  McCullough's Texas Brigade that attacked the Negro garrison at Milliken's Bend on June 7, 1863, and during that attack me made a raid on the "picture gallery", and seeing the picture of Colonel Dollins there he appropriated it, recognizing him as an old townsman, whom he had known while living in Benton, Illinois.  The Missouri Captain confiscated the picture, and turned it over to Colonel Buchanan, and he in turn presented it to Capt. Fitzgerrell,
     Col. Dollins' former Adjutant and relative.  It shows Colonel Dollins in the uniform he wore when leading the fateful assault."--

     On 21 July 1863, Susan Dollins, widow of Col. Dollins, filed for a widow's pension with the War Department.  The petition was sworn to by John Ward and Joseph A. Dollins, the youngest full brother of James Dollins.  When she died in 1912, Susan Dollins was receiving a pension of $30 per month.  Of his four surviving children, Mary married a gentleman named Browning; Delilah and Martha married borthers named Swofford, and they and their families were listed in the 1880 census in Franklin Co.  Joseph Logan Dollins married Linda Cleveland.  Edwina Canalis died as an infant before the Civil War.
     Susan Ann Dollins did not remarry.  She probably moved to Kansas about the same time as her son Logan, possibly to care for Canalis and live near her daughter Mary,  She died in McCune, KS on 18 Apr 1912, and is buried there.

===============================================

     Nothing is known about the life of James C. Dollins until he was married.  His father died when he was 10 years of age.  No doubt he lived with his mother on the farm.  He married when he was 22 years of age.  He later bought 265 acres of land his father owned.  In the year 1879, he bought a 200-acre farm from his father-in-law, Presley O'Banion.  This farm was about 2-1/2 miles northeast of the home farm.  He used many mules and employed several men to keep his land producing.  He raised a large amount of read clover, especially on the O'Banion farm.  On this farm he built a barn 100 feet long for the purpose of storing red clover hay.  He thrashed some of his red clover crop and sold the seed as one means of obtaining cash.  He was the owner of the first thrashing machine in Franklin Co. that was powered by a self-propelled steam engine.  James C. did a large amount of custom work, thrashing for people over a wide area.  Only a few days before he died, he was thrashing red clover on his own farm, working all day in the clover dust from the machine.  He became ill and died with pneumonia.  It was believed that the dust was the cause of his sickness.  He was buried in the Drummond Cemetery and his grave is near that of his father and his brother, John.  this cemetery is located about 1-1/2 miles northwest of the ancestral Dollins farm.  It is located in a wooded area and joins the south shore of Lake Moses.
It has been totally neglected since that time.  At the present time there is a growth of bushes and trees making it difficult to find some of the headstones.--

===============================================

     Earl Dollins was only five years of age when his father died.  since he died young, he did not have time to do much for which to be remembered.  The author remembers him working along with employees on the family farm.  When he was about 19 years old he was stricken with tuberculosis.  At that time there was no known cure for the disease.  He, his mother, and his sister, Daisy, went to California and lived there a few years with the hope the climate would help arrest the disease.  This was a common practice at that time.  They came back to Illinois about 1905.  His mother had married John Britton previously, and Earl died at the Britton home south of Ewing, IL, in 1907.--

===============================================

     Joseph Logan Dollins, the only son of James J. Dollins, was born on a farm east of Benton, IL.  He was married four times.  His first wife was Linda [spelled Elinda in the censuses of 1860 and 1870] Cleveland who probably died soon after the birth of their only child, Canalis.  His second wife, Drusilla, whom he married in 1875, deserted him on 5 Sept 1877.  He divorced her on grounds of desertion in June 1880.  His first and second marriages undoubtedly took place in Franklin Co., IL.  Unfortunately, Franklin Co. marriage records for 1873 through 1877 have been lost.  The date of his marriage to Drusilla was given in his divorce petition.  His first and second marriages were not recorded in any of the other 22 counties of southern IL.  His marriage certificate to Missouri Ann Beck states this was his third marriage.  His third marriage [apparently] ended in divorce since Missouri Ann was living in St. Louis at the time of his death.  In the census of 1880, Joseph L. Dollins was listed as a grocer living in White Co., IL with his mother and daughter, Canalis.
     Canalis's death certificate listed her date of birth as 11 December 1875, but this must be an error since J.L. Dollins married his second wife on 1 December 1875.  The census, taken on 2 June 1880, listed Canalis as 6 years old and attending school, hence she must have been born not later than May 1874.
     Between 1886 and 1904 J.L. Dollins was a traveling salesman for the Hundley and Smith Dry Goods House of St. Joseph, MO.  Newspaper articles reporting his death said he was associated with the dry goods firm of Burnham, Hannah and Munger; however, only Hundley and Smith was mentioned in his obituary.
     He lived in Concordia, KS, and owned a home there between 1899 and 1903.  His health began failing in 1903 andhe resigned his traveling position and moved to Milford, KS, in January 1904.  He commenced a general merchandise business in partnership with his wife under the firm name of The Spot Cash Store.  He built a new store in1906 and expanded again in 1907 to accommodate his growing business.  Apparently despondent over his failing health, he shot himself through the head with a pistol at noon on 16 Oct 1907.  He left a business house worth $2000 and stock worh $6000.  At the time of his death, John was living in San Francisco, James and Henry were in St. Louis with their mother, Maud (Weber) lived in Philadelphia, and Claudia (Jacobi) was in St. Louis.  Canalis (Williams) lived in Parsons, KS.  Only the youngest son, Thealfa, was at home.  J.L. Dollins was survived by his mother, then living at McCune, KS, and a sister, Mary Browning, of Columbus, KS.  Another sister, Delilah Cross, lived in Long Beach, CA.
     Joseph Dollins was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge #292 in Milford, joining the order on 15 Jan 1907.  The lodge officiated at his funeral.  His widow disposed of the property and moved back to Concordia in 1908.
     The obituary of Joseph Logan Dollins was found on page 7, column 1, in the Thursday, October 24, 1907, issue of the "Republic," a weekly newspaper published in Junction City, KS.  The obituary is available from the Kansas State Historical Society, Newspaper and Census Division, 10th and Jackson Streets, Topeka, KS 66612.--

     Edward D. Dollins' father died when he was 16 years of age.  Therefore it was necessary for him to assume a great responsibility for a young boy in operating a large farm.  He and his younger brothers worked hard and kept the farm business going in good order.  He married at age 22.  Since there were two farms to care for, he and his wife moved to the east farm called the O'Banion Farm.  There was a log cabin on this farm so they began living in this cabin as a temporary arrangement until a better house would be available.  In 1903, some adjoining land was bought.  On this land there was a better and larger house into which they moved.  A few years later a new house was built.  The first four children were born in the log cabin.
     Edward, or Ed as he was called, continued to purchase adjoining farm land until he had acquired 380 acres.  He bought the interest ofhis brothers and sisters in the 200 acres his father owned.  He used a diversified system of farming, livestock, and grain.

     George B. Dollins was a young boy, almost 14 years of age, when his father, James C. Dollins died.  After his marriage in 1900, he continued to live on the home farm with his mother.  After several years his mother remarried and moved away.  His mother married the father of his wife, John Britton.  In 1911 George moved to Benton, IL, where he lived the remainder of his life.  At difficult times, he was engaged in several business enterprises including and insurance company, banking, and automobile loan company, and his last business was the ownership of the Ford Automobile Agency in Benton.  He continued to own the Dollins farm.  After his death, his daughter, Edna and her husband, bought out the other heirs to the farm.  In 1955, it was sold to a neighbor.  This farm had remained in the Dollins family for 118 years.---

     Ollie Dollins was born on the Dollins ancestral farm near Benton, IL.  The earliest memory the author has ofher was when she and her family lived on North McLeansboro Street near the Benton High School.  Her husband was in the cattle slaughtering business.  He bought cattle, slaughtered them, processed the beef and distributed it to various stores in the area.  Ollie was a widow the last 23 years of her life.  Her daughter, Ethel died during the enfluenza epidemic of 1918.

Notes for Marilyn Jane Shaw:
From the Zanesville Times Recorder of Friday, Dec. 3, 1948:

EMPTY STOLEN PURSE FOUND IN COURTHOUSE

     "A purse stolen from Mrs. Keith Moore of East Fultonham in a downtown store Wednesday afternoon was recovered early Thursday in the washroom of the courthouse but the $110 it contained was missing.
     "Mrs. Moore said she was in a crowded store and felt she had been bumped or shoved by another woman shopper, but did not see the woman who had grabbed the purse and fled."---

   Now this article wouldn't have interested me near as much if it hadn't mentioned that Mrs. Keith Moore was from East Fultonham.  As far as I know there was only one Keith Moore in East Fultonham and that was my father.  According to their marriage certificate they were married in Greenup Co., KY on February 2, 1949.  However, the date of this article is Dec 3, 1948.---

   Another mystery to solve.....
