Info on My 1986 Plymouth Horizon 1.6L
Updated 9/5/01
My Horizon is white with maroon interior.  The 1.6L engine was standard in 1986, but the engine is still very rare (people wanted the more powerful 2.2L).  Where exactly the engine came from is a mystery to most people, including myself.  Most people agree that it is a Peugeot engine, but there are arguments about whether Chrysler of Europe originally made the engine and then sold it to Peugeot.  In any case, here is some information on my car:
Engine:
2 Barrel Holley Carb, solid lifters, pushrods
     Engine displacement:  1.6L
     Horsepower:              64@4800rpm
     Torque:                     87ft.lbs.@2800rpm
     Compression:             8.8:1

  Transmission:
                                      4 speed
     Final Drive:                3.05:1
     Overall:                      2.69:1

Update:  My brother and I have begun the massive project of converting the Horizon to 2.2 turbo power.  Here are some pictures of before the project began.  I will post pictures of the project as we go along.
This is the inside, including an aftermarket tach, a water temp gauge and a air/fuel gauge to the left.  I am going to be converting to the rallye cluster with a tach, water temp., etc. so all these gauges will be replaced except for the air/fuel gauge.  Also, a boost gauge will go where the water temp gauge is now.
