His Gr. Grandfather was Bert Edgar Badgerow ( 1887 - 1950 ).  He came into Plymouth Co. between 1901 - 1910 with his parents, Robert Whittum Badgerow and Alice Alma Chase.   Bert was born in Illinois yet was a Elkhorn & Union twp. farmer for over 40 years till his death, he died of a heart attack while performing his daily chores.  He  married a Sac Co. born Scotish girl, Lillian Mae ( Bruce ) Thornley ( 1894 - 1978 ) in 1921 at LeMars. 1st marriage for him and 2nd for her.  Lillian and Bert had one son, Grandpa, who was born on the farm in Elkhorn twp.  Bert took in Lilian's first child , father was Clifford Thornely, Gr. Aunt Thelma never took the Badgerow name, and treated here as if she was one of his own.  Lillian's parents moved into the  Moville, Woodbury Co. area about 1899 and was for a short time in Elkhorn Twp, where Lillian's youngest sister was born in 1900.   Berts sibilings did not stay in the area and his folks moved to Wolf Creek twp. in Woodbury Co.  Lillian's sibilings are Stuart Mabel whom married a Poweshiek Co. born boy - Cephas Morgan, Robert Edward married a Moville girl - Living Hannah, and Marguerite Hazel married a Plymouth Co. boy - Jay Lehner.
Jay's family tree goes back to some of the first settlers in Union Twp, The
McCartneys and the Crostons.
Now Grandpa married into the Higginbotham family.  Grandma was a gr grandchild of Kingsley's first rural route mail carrier, Arthur Edward Higginbotham ( 1865 - 1938 ) , he used  "Ed" for a call name.  Ed was a son of Ohio born and Hardin Co. native, James M. Higginbotham and Sarah Jane Rhodes.   James and Sarah must have moved breifly to Plymouth Co., when is not certain, and Ed stayed and his folks moved back to Steam Boat Rock.  Ed married an English born and native girl, Mary Ann Smith at Kingsley in 1894.  To this marriage 5 children where born the eldest son or 2nd living child being Gr Grandpa - Arthur Evart Higginbotham ( 1898 - 1966 ).   "Art" was born in Plymouth Co. in 1898. Art married a Quimby born girl,. Thelma Weaver, up in Storm Lake, IA in 1921. They were the proud parents of 8 children, 6 of whom lived or are living  long lives.
Art's sibling where Lucy Mazetta whom married 1st a Dakota Terr. born boy - Gordon Haggin then she married a Ohio born young man -  Ernest Eppling; Mildred married a Conneticate born, Washta resident boy - Gunnard Carlson:  James M. Higginbotham married Irene Katherine Yeager,  I do not know much about his family since he moved and raised his family out in Calif.  and then there was Harlan Wellington Higginbotham whom  married a Moville born girl - Helen Emma Bush
Many of names mentioned above are buried in the Kingsley City Cemetery or the Arlington Twp. Cemetery in Moville, IA.
