This is a new poem. I have prayed to God that my gift of poetry was not taken away (for not using it). Well he answered my prayer with the inspiration to write this.
To God be the glory!
"Forever Friend"
You came into my life
There�s nothing you wouldn�t give.
I turned my back on you,
Because I wanted to live.
Throughout my living,
I stumbled and fell.
You gave me your hand,
And asked me to tell.
I said, �tell what?�
You said, �tell of my dad.�
I snapped �I have things to do.�
You looked so sad.
After I got up,
I let go of your hand.
I said I was fine,
On my feet I always land.
Then I faced something
I had never dreamed.
You showed up again,
Always there you seemed.
My problem didn�t go away,
But it appeared so small
Because you stayed with me.
Your love I finally saw!
So I listened to your words,
The tears in your eyes,
As you told me you loved me,
And you heard all my cries.
I found out you paid
The ultimate price.
And though it was painful,
You never thought twice.
Even though I was unwilling
And even cursed your name,
You patiently waited.
To the cross I finally came.
For that�s where you died,
For a sinner like me.
So unworthy of your love
But past that you see.
Thank you for giving me
The chance to change.
I will tell your story
To see someone�s life rearranged.
Jesus loves you,
For you he died.
He can change your life
When you walk by his side.
