Mythology
In Roman mythology, Pluto was the god of the Underworld and the God of Riches.  (Greek would be Hades).  He was the son of Saturn and Rhea.  Pluto and his two brothers, Jupiter and Neptune, divded the universe into three.  Pluto recieved the underground parts.  (Jupiter gained the Heavens and Neptune got the seas).  The Roman belief was that the entrance to Hell was at Avernus (in Rome).  Other names Pluto is known by are Orcus, Dis, and Dis Pater.
