Game Reveiws

NOTE: Even thiugh these games may be on multiple systems, only the system reviews that I ahve played are here.

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance /// XBOX

-----This was a good addition to the Midway series. The entire scope of the game is a brand-new to the consoles of today. Multiple fughting styles all put into motion using motion capture techniques. A new array of characters along with some classics, makes this MK it's own masterpiece. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi discover the dragon kings lost army and try to revive the soldiers by transferring the souls of warriors into them. In order to do this the duet killed Shao Khan and Lu Kang so they could hold another Mortal Kombat. New characters with their own fighting styles is what caught my eye, and the eyes of many.

Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance /// GBA
-----One of the finer games on the GBA. An all new storyline with an all new cast of characters, makes this Final Fantasy worth playing. New combat systems make battling more fun as well as strategic, an aspect greatly appreciated by most gamers. The sound of this game is what really got me. I would sit and listen to the soundtrack all night before I went to sleep. If you haven't played any of the other final fantasy games then you have got to play it. You take on the role of March Radiuju, who has just moved to the town of St. Ivalice. He meets some new friends while he's there. One day, one of them brings over a book that he found in a library. When he opens it, St. Ivalice changes. He awakes to a new world. As he explores a nearby town, he bumps into one of the locals and the game officially begins. Throughout the game, you can create a party of characters with various different jobs. The vast storyline keeps you on the egde as you try to turn Ivalice back to normal as save your friends.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance /// GC
-----Forgotten Realms has made another killer Action/RPG. Living up to their name, they made another hack-and-slash-spellcasting-kick-ass-game. The spell system is easily accessable so all of you wizards can have fun burning the asses off of creatures. Up to two players can play at once, and with the option of importing your characers, this makes a great game with an awesome storyline. Your character has just made it to the city of Baldurs Gate. After being mugged, you are taken to a local tavern. It's there that you find out that a group of spies were responsible for the bump on your head. By following them, you begin to learn the story and of your quest. Journey through cities, mountains, marshes, and castles to solve this strange cycle of events.

Goldeneye: Rouge Agent /// GC
-----Many people have played the original goldeneye on N64 as well as other james bond game on other systems. But not up until now could you play as someone else besides bond, an evil someone. You take on the roll of an MI6 agent that, after bonds death, gets thrown out for fit of rage. After being shot in the eye by Dr. No, a very well-known character offers you a new job. Auric Goldfinger employs you to put an end to Dr. No's reign of terror. In doing so, he instructs his operative to customize the robotic eye that you have in your thick skull. You may remember the operative as on Fransisco Scaramanga (the man with the golden gun). More old faces, includin Oddjob, return to make this game more classic looking. On the other hand, the game is far from classic seeing as how your eye has some nifty little tricks. Seeing through walls, "hacking" into computer terminals as well as your enemies weapons, creating somewhat of a forcefield, and throwing around your opponents with cybernetics, makes your eye invaluable on your journey. More options are available to your character than bond ever had. Knock your opponents into a daze, grab them, and use them as a human shield while still firing your weapon. Speaking of weapons, a new group of weapons keeps this game fresh as well as the new shooting system. To make things easier for the gamer, you now use the L and R triggers to shoot your left-handed and right-handed weapons respectivly. To pick up a weapon, you must stand over it an press A and whatevr trigger that you want to swap out weapons to the new hand. Some weapons are two-handed so both of your weapons will be gone. But don't distress about running out of weapons, the character always has a pistol and grenades handy (they holdster when you pick up a new weapon).

Resident Evil 0 /// GC
-----The resident evil series has been around for a while but I personaly know some people that wanted to know more about haw the whole thing started. Thanks to Capcom, me and my friend figured it all out. Rebecca Chambers, along with some other STARS are lokking for team Alpha. Team Bravo's helicopter crashes in a forest. Rebecca goes off on her own and discovers a train. She climbs aboard and the door shut behind her. She has no choice but to keep inspecting the train. I'm not going to spoil it for you so I will skip ahead just a bit. Later, she meets a fugitive by the name of Billy Coen who saves her from some weird leech-like things. Through a small course of events, he eventually joins her to escape this nightmare. When that happens, a new type of resident evil play style is born. You can switch between Rebecca or Billy whenever you want, creating a brand-new way of solving puzzles. The rest I can't tell you. Sorry!
