Love Quotes

I wonder how many millions of words have been written on the subject of love? Probably as many as there are grains of sand on a beach. So a few more will not go amiss...by the way, on the right is, I am, told, the Chinese for love...

I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
William Butler Yeats

Treasure the love you receive above all.
It will survive long after your gold and good
health have vanished.
Og Mandino

Love is like an hourglass,
with the heart filling up as the brain empties.
Jules Renard

An old man in love is like a flower in winter.
Old proverb

Some say love, it is a river that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower, and you it's only seed.
Amanda McBroom

I find this quote particularly poignant. This is for my one special love - where ever you are right now, these are the words that I would say to you:

I loved you yesterday, I love you today,
I shall love you tomorrow, and I will love you
long after the last grain of sand has
fallen through the hourglass of life.
Neville Spadafore

You will probably be the last thought on my mind as I slip from this world and into the next. How I wish that on that day you could be there for me.

If you ever read this, know that these words are also for you - they may not be my own words, but they echo in my heart as if they had been written there by myself. I love you...

My One True Love

You entered my life when I least expected you.
I saw in your eyes the honesty and forthrightness
I have been searching for all my life.
I fell in love with you, and I know
I will always love you with all my heart...

It wasn't only your eyes
that told me how special you are,
It was your hands, so tender when they touched me,
So strong when they held me,
And it was the sound of your voice
When you said my name for the first time
And that indelible moment
when you said, "I love you."

It is the way you treat others with respect,
And the way others respect you
It is the warmth that fills the world
with your spirit
And your very special kindness.

All of these things let me know
That forever and always
you will be
My One True Love.

Alan Schweitzer

If you have read this far and you have sound on your pc, then you will have heard the music for "On My Own" from Les Miserables. A beautiful tune and beautiful words:

And now I'm all alone again
Nowhere to turn, no one to go to
Without a home without a friend
Without a face to say hello to
And now the night is near
I can make believe he's here

Sometimes I walk alone at night
When everybody else is sleeping
I think of him and I'm happy
With the company I'm keeping
The city goes to bed
And I can live inside my head

On my own
Pretending he's beside me
All alone
I walk with him till morning
Without him
I feel his arms around me
And when I lose my way I close my eyes
And he has found me

In the rain the pavement shines like silver
All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever

And I know it's only in my mind
That I'm talking to myself and not to him
And although I know that he is blind
Still I say, there's a way for us

I love him
But when the night is over
He is gone
The river's just a river
Without him
The world around me changes
The trees are bare and everywhere
The streets are full of strangers

I love him
But every day I'm learning
All my life
I've only been pretending
Without me
His world would go on turning
A world that's full of happiness
That I have never known

I love him
I love him
I love him
But only on my own
