Gah, let's get this evil game over with QUICKLY! This game is played behind the giant pricetag. In order to win this game, the contestant must get 3 X's in a row horizontally or diagonally (vertically doesn't count). Also, the contestant can only put his/her X's on the yellow squares (not the red squares). First, the contestant gets one free X, and s/he is given an opportunity to win up to two more by guessing the correct price of two small prizes. For this, two possible prices are given, and the contestant wins the prize and an X if s/he can guess which one is right. The contestant wins if the s/he has 3 X's in a row utilizing the secret X. |

Like in Master Key, you don't have the greatest odds of winning in this game, though it obviously helps to get both X's rather than just one. For guessing which of the two prices is right for the small prizes, it is usually the price that ends in 0 or 5. For guessing where the secret X is, it is NOT as unpredictable as most people think. The most frequent spot the X is in is the middle square (fortunately). Of course, winning might have to do with how desperate the producers are to give away the prize--if it's the last game and there have been no winners so far in the show, they might decide to stick the X in the middle just to have a winner (interestingly, most contestants cover the middle square first). And usually, when the prize is a car, the X is in the bottom square. Basically, listen when Rod gives the price of the prize. The cheaper it is, the more likely the X will be in the middle square, and the more expensive the prize is, the more likely the X will be in the bottom square. Also, one more bit of advice--NO MATTER WHAT, ALWAYS STICK THE X'S IN THE CORNERS!!! ALWAYS!! |
