This game is played behind the giant pricetag. There are three prizes in this game and four prices. The game starts with Bob Barker handing the contestant $500--note I said "handing," not "giving." Whether or not the contestant gets to keep the $500 is to be seen. The contestant is to select the three prices that s/he believes go with the three prizes. Of course, two of them have to be right, and two are lighted up. Then the contestant must make a decision--is the last prize the price s/he has the last marker by, or is it the other price without the marker? If the contestant decided to switch the marker, it will cost him/her the $500 s/he was handed earlier in the game. If his/her decision is wrong, however, s/he loses the prizes AND the $500. |

There's a really easy way to win this game, but you're not going to like it--it's going to cost $500. Chances are, you know the price of at least one of the prizes--DON'T pick that price. Later, when the other two prices are revealed, happily give Bob back the $500 to make the change ;) If you actually DO know the prices for all three prizes (I watch everyday and I RARELY know all 3), then I guess you can go for the $500. If you really don't know any of the prices, you should still switch. Simply switching the marker gives you a 75% chance of winning (those are the odds they were forced to give you the two prices they did give you). |
