CLOCK GAME
This game is played on the turntable for two 3-digit prizes.  Also nowadays, $1000 is awarded if both prizes are won.  The contestant has 30 seconds to win both prizes.  The clock starts with the contestant's first bid on the less expensive prize.  After this bid, Bob says "higher" or "lower", meaning the actual retail price of the prize is higher or lower than the contestant's bid. Using these clues, the contestant must zero-in on the price of the prize to win it.  Then, with any time remaining on the clock, the contestant does the same to try to win the second prize.  For example, if it took the contestant 18 seconds to win the first prize, s/he gets 12 seconds to win the second prize (for a grand total of 30 seconds).  Again, if the contestant does win both prizes, s/he also wins $1000.
HOW TO WIN
First, bid by hundreds, ending each one in 99 (e.g. $599, $699, $799, etc.)  about half the prizes in this game end in 99, and using this strategy you can find the price quickly.  Also, the second prize is often $968, so keep that price in mind.  If the prize doesn't end in 99, bid in between your two amounts you know it's between, and guess $x49.  That'll be right a good bit of the time.  If that's not right, then go up, or down by tens.  Once you know the tens digit, just shout 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 as quickly as possible... Bob will know what you mean, and you'll win quickly.
