| This game is played behind the curtain for a regular prize. This game uses 6 grocery items. Each grocery item has a price listed for it, which may be the actual price, or the price multiplied by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10. The contestant chooses products, and gets a card for each one. The card corresponds with what number the actual price was multiplied by to get the price that's shown. For example, if the actual price is $2.29, but $4.58 is shown, the contestant would get a 2. If $22.90 were shown, the contestant would get a 10. If, however, $2.29 was what was shown, the contestant would get an ace. The game plays like blackjack--the contestant tries to get as close to 21 as possible without going over 21. The house has a deck of 46 cards--the standard 52 card deck minus the six cards by the products. Kathleen (or whoever does that now) draws the top card to be the hole card for the house (face down) and the next card to be the up card (face up). The house must draw on 16 and everything below, and stay on 17 and everything above, just like standard blackjack. If the contestant beats the house--or if the house busts, s/he wins the main prize, so long as s/he didn't go over 21 him/herself. Ties go to the contestant--even when the house has blackjack. |
