LOWER WISCONSIN RIVER HOVERGROUP HOSTS

NATIONAL HOVER-IN 2000 FOR THE HOA, Page 2!!

Sunrise on Friday reveals more hovers having arrived!

Sunrise reveals a very pretty picture, hovercrafts crowding the landing....waiting for passengers! After we arrived back from the search and recovery, approx. 6 hours, we decided to rest a bit and have lunch. The activities for the day were minimal as we were all very tired.

The Boat Landing on Friday......many more tucked away on the upper level!

Ray Matthews & Debbie & the SkimAire

Meet Centauri, as we all know him on the hoverlovers egroup.....Ray Matthews and Debbie. Ray brought with him his Skim Aire (working).......

and his Chinook.

Skim Aire.....owned by Ray Matthews.

Reportedly both are for sale as Ray is buying a new craft soon.

Mike Lynch (Illinois) and son John with their SCAT. Daughter Stephanie was somewhere else at the time of the picture!

The afternoon and evening of Saturday, Bob flew his WIG for all of us! It was an entertaining site with lots of grace and beauty!

For a beautiful page of WIG pictures taken by Jacques Pienaar, please click here!

We always give lots of rides to the public at this hover-in. It's probably because we have to go down Main Street to get to the boat landing and the word just gets out somehow!!!!! However, the people in this photo are very special to me.......my 3 daughters and son-in-law being given a ride by Verdon!

My daughter Becky gets in behind her husband Jim, while daughter Shelly walks along side. This actually was Becky's very first ride in a hovercraft....being a little bit hesitant of anything that rides on water! Jim was looking forward to driving......can't you tell......he's ducking down behind the windshield hanging on to the steering!

Jim and Becky....

Huddled together, just in case......they actually did return very safe and sound!

Dave LaCombe needed to do a little bit of repairs on his push prop after his sandbar jump in the 10F!

Prop fully repaired, Dave takes the craft for a spin!

LtoR: Janet & Carl Gorsuch, Verdon Weber, Don Searls, Jean Searls, Linda Weber, and Terry ?.

This is just one of the many picnic tables of food at Saturday evening's get together......

Carol Alm waiting patiently by her hover....

Charles Dixon and passenger, John Lynch.

Yepper, that's me!!! Bob asked if I would like a ride......everyone on the boat landing saw me jumping up and down for joy!!

Bob actually flew the WIG underneath the bridge....with me in it!!

Here we come.....

There we go!!!!!!

Bob told me I had only one thing I had to do while flying.......WAVE!!!!!

The craft flew beautifully. Later in the afternoon while others were on a cruise (me included) Verdon took the WIG out for an enjoyable cruise by himself (at Bob's request)!!

Onward to Page Three of the 2000 National Cruise!
