| Mohala Moore was the first child and eldest daughter of Abraham Moore and Mary Evans Moore. She was born in 1817 and died in 1899. She was married to Jesse Allen Cook. Jesse Cook was born in 1814 and died in 1866. Mohala and Jesse had 13 children listed as follows: 1. Ellen Cook--born 1839--married Duncan Smiley 2. Martha Ann Cook--born 1834--married Benjamin R. Evans 3. Masail Cook--born 1837--married Caswell DuBose 4. Carolina Cook--born 1850--married Samuel Evans 5. Luanzie Cook--born 1842--died 1920--married David Cantey 6. Georgiana Cook--born 1854--died 1907--married J. Laurie Cantey 7. Eugenia Cook--born 1856--married Watson Feagin 8. Jesse D. Cook--born 1852--died 1908--married Indiana Elizabeth Rodgers 9. Robert Abraham Cook--born 1844--died 1898--married Martha Jane Barrineau 10. Major Alphous J. Cook--born 1858--died 1902--married Alice Eugenia Evans 11. Jemima Cook--born 1846--married Elias Matthews 12. Sarah Ann Mahala Cook--born 1848--died 1917--married Jim M. Matthews 13. Erasmus Warren Cook--born 1841--died 1861 at age 19 in the Civil war, never married Mohala and her husband Jesse were instrumental in the founding of Pergamos Church which is located in Moore's Crossroads near Lake City, South Carolina. According to family legend she and Jesse would hold worship services for the community in the "great hall" of Abraham Moore's home with the aid of "traveling" ministers. Eventually these services moved into Pergamos. Mohala is sometimes referred to as Sarah Ann Mahaley Moore Cook in some records I have researched. She and Jesse are buried in Cook Cemetery along with several of her children. |

| Now we come to great-great-great aunt Jemima! How many of you can honestly say you have an Aunt Jemima in your family? Jemima was the second child and daughter of Abraham and Mary Moore. She was born in 1819 and died in 1885. She was married to Martin Stafford Feagin. Martin Feagin was born in 1812 and died in 1875. Jemima and Martin had 11 children as listed: 1. James A. Feagin--born 1838 2. Mary A. Feagin--born 1841 3. Richardson E. Feagin--born 1843 4. Martha Feagin--born 1845 5. Martin S. Feagin, Jr--born 1847--died 1908 6. William Richard Feagin--born 1849--married Elizabeth Brown 7. Warren B. Feagin--born 1851 8. Mineous O. Feagin--born 1854 9. Henry Ellis Feagin--born 1856 10.
