| Darla Dee Moore was born on August 1, 1954 in Lake City, South Carolina. Her parents are Eugene T. Moore , Jr and Lorraine Mae Linsenbardt. She has a sister name Lisa Moore Golonka. Darla is married toTexas investor Richard Rainwater. Darla has the distinct pleasure of having the University of South Carolina name their business school in her honor after she made a very generous contribution to them. It is now known as The Darla Moore School of Business. Darla owns the house that is located on the original site of Abraham Moore's plantation. She uses it when she is staying in South Carolina. There is also an old tobacco barn located on the property that has been refurbished into a very cozy and comfortable "guest" house. Darla and I are fourth cousins (just in case you are wondering)! When she is not in town her father, Eugene, looks after her house. |
