The following is the will of Abraham Moore. It is transcribed word for word from the original document which is located in Kingstree Courthouse in Williamsburg County, South Carolina.
Know all men by that I Abraham Moore doo make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following vis? I wish my beloved wife to keep the plantation stock and negroes during her lifetime or time of widowhood and at her death or marriage I wish all my personal property equally divided with my six children the negroes to be divided with Mahala Cook and Jemima Feagin JJ Moore and RA Moore EE Moore and BC Moore to be theirn their lifetime and at their death to go to their lawful ishue and Jesse A Cook to be given one dollar Martin S. Feagin one dollar of my estate the tract of land I now live on I wish divided with my four sons the west end to JJ Moore and BC Moore the east end to RA Moore and EE Moore the track on track on Johnson Swamp I leave to BC Moore the track joining BC land I wish divided with divided with BC and EE Moore and it is my wish for my executors to call men to appraise and divide my estate without any expense of order for saile or appraisement lastly I appoint JJ Moore and Samuel C. Maccutcheon executors to this my last will and testament thereby revoking all other and former wills wills made by me in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this the 9 of May ad 1861 Abraham Moore signed sealed published and delivered as the last will and testament of the above named Abraham Moore in the presence of us who here subscribed our names as witnesses there to in presence the sad Abraham Moore and in the presence of each other
