-------------------------------------------------------
THIS GAME IS FREEWARE. IT MAY *NOT* BE SOLD UNDER ANY
CIRCUMSTANCES.
THE AUTHOR WILL PROVIDE ---NO--- TECHNICAL SUPPORT
OF ANY KIND, SO DON'T SEND ME TECH SUPPORT QUESTIONS!!
LINK IS A TRADEMARK OF SOME SORT OF NINTENDO OR SOMEONE
LIKE THAT. IT WAS USED WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION AND IF
THEY DON'T LIKE IT THEY CAN GO F*CK THEMSELVES! :)
RALPH WIGGUM'S VOICE IS A TRADEMARK OF FOX, I THINK.
THEY PROBABLY *DO* SPEND A LOT OF TIME F*CKING
THEMSELVES THERE. THIS WAS ALSO USED WITHOUT ANYONE'S
PERMISSION AND I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S @SS ABOUT IT.
This game is partially parody, as it has some humor
in it. As satire it is protected by law - thank God
that Weird Al won that lawsuit years back.
Or you can sue me for the $0.00 I am making off this.
Either way.

After defeating Ganon, a new evil is bringing

happening, and save the kingdom to win.

CREDITS:

This is just a bang-up game. I will make modifications
to future versions, but probably nothing serious.
First, thanks to R. Kendall (darkgod@drigon.com). He
designed the title screen for Part 1, the Link graphic,
the boomerang graphic, the house graphic, the large brick
graphic (four thick gray bricks), the purple/blue backdrop,
and the "pillars" (usually they are over water. You;ll know them
when you see them).

Most graphics come from the Klik N Play Library. I have
edited several graphics, adding directions, color, etc
of both the Library and those made by Mr. Kendall.

The ideas for the levels (with the exceptions of those I
modified that Mr. Kendall made) were all mine.

Music: Six scores (when you beat a Boss, the 2 overworld scores,
the intro score, the Game Over score, and the "dungeon" music) were
all from Zelda 1 & 2. I found the MIDI's at "The Ultimate Zelda Website."
All the other songs come off the CD "Sounds & Music, Volume I."

Special Thanks to eK, Geoff Sims, "Jack Devereaux", in that order,
because that's how I got my hands on a KNP disk to work with.
Cheers!

 -------------------------------------------------

 List of Known Bugs:

MAJOR BUGS:

Have not implemented sword. You have to shoot the enemies with the
boomerangs. This means if you shoot too close to an enemy it might kill
you before it is shot. Never will implement a sword due to KNP's limitations.

Still a few "pulling to the right" bugs (as you jump left and land on an
obstacle you pull left.) Have fixed most; may not fix all. Some are
intentional :)
There are probably now less than five in the whole game - V2.3

BUG REPORTS should be shoved up your butt because I won't care anymore!

Link still sticks to a couple of ceilings, but way less than V1.0,
and some I can't avoid.

Be careful shooting in close quarters. Link jerks a little to the right
when you shoot and may accidentally bump a baddie/trap! So stay back and
think before you shoot.

Have fun!

Other release notes...

VERSION HISTORY

V0.9, R Kendall (darkgod@drigon.com) created the Overground levels in Town
1 and the title screen. He distributed it under the title "Zelda II: The
Final Quest."

V1.0 Beta Version. I modified the game and made tons of new levels, using
Kendall's graphics plus those in the KNP archives. This version didn't have
a life bar - if you got hit, you died (like the commander keen series);
the good news was you got infinite chances, just had to restart a level from
the beginning if you died. This was also distributed in 2 parts because of
a bug with the way KNP saves games. Also there were a lot of floors that
pulled left and miscellaneous bugs. Released August 1998.

V2.0 Fixed most major bugs and added new levels, all in the Castle
at the end of the game. Added lives, life, etc; merged the game
into 2 parts. MAJORLY got rid of crappy KNP Midi's and added lots of rockin
music like Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Bryan Adams, Billy Joel, the theme from
the movie Halloween, etc. Also added original Zelda I & II scores for an
authentic feel, especially on the overhead maps. Even got the Zelda I
music when you walk in the overground kingdom on one level, but it repeats
pretty quick and KNP is slow to reload it, so you might get stuck in midair
for a couple seconds. Released August 1999.

V2.3 Now released. Version 2.3 is where I am right now (1/8/99).
The final Boss has tripled in size and is far more powerful; all bosses
are stronger; added a screen with ALL FOUR major bosses to fight at once
(it's REALLY nasty and evil!). Have added some decorations so the game
doesn't look the same everywhere (vines, trees, random doors, changed
backdrop colors, etc).

Future Updates - now discontinued, but I note what got into V2.3

V2.6 will add instructions screen. -- there is one for V2.3

V2.7 will add PCX animations taking from Nesticle, Zelda II The Adventure
of Link: Daira, Doomknocker, Stalfos, possibly Ironknuckle. They will be
put in to give the game even more of an edge.

--- there is a sneak preview of these in V2.3 !! see if you can find them.

V2.8 will finally have a universal Life Bar; that is you won't revert to
2 of 3 units every level. You'll start with 3 and they'll drain til you die;
then they restart. It will be fillable to 8 as you collect heart containers
(each heart restoring 2 points). Usually there will be one heart per screen
or two.

This game never got this far. If there is a Zelda 3000, it will have these
features.

V3.0 will be the FINAL release, shareware as always. This will be the final
version of the game, totally. I am getting The Games Factory soon, and there
will be a sequel made in that, side scrolling with even better GFX.

Sequel will be a while.. who knows the engine or OS. Live with it. :P
