MY POINT
OF VIEW
UFOs and Aliens
I was just looking, as I am sometimes prone to do, at a website devoted to ufos and aliens.  This particular site claimed to have photos of actual aliens from a crashed disc.
I must admit they were quite impressive, and of course they should be, considering they were the dummies that lie in the Roswell, New Mexico International UFO Museum.  In fact, I have my own personal photos of these same aliens; some with my sons standing in front of them. (I shake my head.)

What motivates people to pull this sort of fraud on the public?  There are so many sites on the web devoted to UFOs and the reality thereof, that people caught unsus-
pecting and unaware can try and be led to believe the most ridiculous things; and not just aliens and flying saucers.  A great number of people want to believe in such things and will not examine anything with a skeptical eye because they are so eager to believe.
I wonder what exactly is their motivation?

I have seen things in the sky. I state that plainly even though this site is dedicated to rational thinking and skepticism.  This past spring, I and three other people saw what appeared to be a cylinder-shaped object with no visible wings moving silently across the sky with no vapor trail present until it passed behind a cloud.  What was it?  I don't know. I couldn't even guess.  I certainly am not prepared to say it was a craft from another star system, filled with green beings surveying our planet; still it was something.  The others and myself can attest to that. I wish we'd had our camcorder or camera handy that we might have an image to study it closer so that we might see that it was indeed some kind of conventional aircraft that merely played tricks on us.  That is what I tend to believe and as time passes and the memory becomes a little fuzzier,
(although as I think now, I can picture it plainly in my mind) I tend to question more what it was we saw that afternoon.  I can't say anthing for certain except that this incident, like all others must be approached with caution and skepticism.  It is too easy to believe in wild tales that are exciting, instead of dull rational explanations.  But, whether dull or not, if that is the truth, then so be it. Remember, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
