Clerks 2
Working title is 'The Passion Of The Clerks', I'm not sure if i like it yet.. But anyway, I could not be more excited about this film!!
Oldboy
It's coming my way on DVD at the end of Febuary, along with thye Star Wars DVD. Woo hoo!!
Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy
I really cannot wait for this film! It looks so promising. The directors did that BT Broadband ad, the one with all the things coming out of the pipe (they also did the video for REM's Imitation Of Life). The cast is also excellent. Alan Rickman is voicing Marvin The Paranoid Android, Stephen Fry is the voice of The Book. It's out on May 6th. I'll be first in the queue.
Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of Sith
Although I've not seen Episodes I and II, I can't wait for this film. From what i've seen it looks like it shoul be good. Plus there's the return of Darth Vader. It all looks groovy!

Happy New Year!.

Well it's been a long time since my last update, which i'm sure nobody is really bothered about, so here goes. Since my last update-type thing, i've gone to uni, maintained my job with Millets, been up Kinder Scout, got into Spaced and Little Britain and formed an unhealthy hatred for pocnhos.

Uni is fun. Except it's in Wales. Wales isnt too bad, some Welsh people are ok, most of them are fine. There are a select few, however, that totally hate the English. There's been a few incidents of anti-English since i've been here one of my flatmates was attacked by a guy who was on the Welsh version of Pop Idol (I know, it's rediculous). He just started pushing her around and calling her an 'English c*nt' just because she was English. In fact, a bunch of drunk lads just walked down the car park singing stuff like 'we all hate the fucking English', 'you're all going home in a fucking ambulance' and 'fucking English wankers'. It's basicaly racism and I don't stand for it. One of the things I hate most are the Welsh customers coming to the till, letting me put the transaction through and then asking me something in Welsh, to which I say I don't speak Welsh. Instead of asking in English they turn to the person next to me who can and ask the question. Then they proceed to have a whole fucking conversation in Welsh in front of me while I stand there looking like a lemon not knowing what's going on. Fair enough they are in their own country but it is so rude when people speak in a foreign language in front of other people so they don't know what is being said.

Another thing. Ponchos. Theyr are totally rediculous! Whoever made them a fashion accessory should be shot several times in the feet. It's shocking how many people wear them. Have you seen yourselves people?!?!> IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU LOOK GOOD! I once saw one silly fucker walking around with a poncho going down to her feet!! She looked fucking rediculous!! The ONLY person that can pull off wearing a poncho is Clint Eastwood. Fact, Oh, and Michael J Fox.

The course is going fine. So far i've made a video for Weezer's song Suzanne, which I might upload if I have any room somewhere to upload it to. I've been fined 20 quid by the college for having an untidy room, which is rediculous. My laptop died on me at 7 in the morning for fucks sake! I had camera equiptment on the floor too, but NOOO, you're not allowed stuff for your course on the floor in your room when there's no storage space for it. Anyway I'm not gonna pay it, they can fuck off.

Other things to mention:
New York again!! Me and Alexandra are off to New York in April for about 5 days. The only reason i'm going is to go and see the Monty Python musical Spamalot, the excitement of which is actually killing me.

**ADDED 05/02/05**
Oh. My. God. What a fucking day I have just had! Totally unbelievable. Today was the big Wales V England rugby match in Cardiff. Five of us went to Cardiff to go drinking and watch the game (me, Nick, Spidey, Pigeon and Anna) in the pubs with the general plan of getting very drunk. We met up with Nick's parents before the game in a pub, then they left cos they had tickets for the game. So then we stayed at the pub, content with the seats and a nice atmostphere. Then 5 mins before kick off Nick got a call from his dad saying he had 2 tickets from a guy at the ground. He asked this guy how much he wanted for the tickets and he said that cos we were students we could have them for free. Fucking amazing. What a totally cool guy. We left the pub and ran through Cardiff in the space of a couple of minutes to get to the stadium, up 6 levels and into the stadium at the start of the Welsh national anthem. And it was a fantastic game of rugby. Wales thoroughly deserved to win, but it was still a great game by any staandards. The attendance was 74,197 (a record for the Millenium Stadium) which is about 1,000 less than Wembley '96 when City beat Crystal Palace (good memories). The Millenium stadium is also awsome. Especially with the roof closed. Oh, to top the day off we queued for an hour at the train station, got onto the platform finally and jumped onto the train on first class!

Hows that for a bit of fried gold?

Ugh. It is not possible to survive on little sleep + black coffee. I certainly wouldn't advise it.

The reason I'm not sleeping has even escaped me. I supposed a good excuse would be to say that I'd rather wait for the 5.55 AM showing of Trap Door rather than have to wait up for it. It's kind of true. I have been watching it recently. Brilliant for nostalgia. I used to have the Trap Door game for the Commodore 64, but have since lost both/assumed I'd lost them. I bet they're in the attic somewhere. For some reason my C64 emulator is refusing, so I will have to sort THAT out before Uni.

Ahh, Uni. Yup, me, myself and Ian will be curtailing our mutual collective...ness to none other than Carmarthen. That will be fun. Still a bit to sort out, like accomodation and stuff, but otherwise, it's a bit fucking daunting.

SOMEONE should buy me a computer !

The 'Coming Soon' page is coming soon. In the meantime, before it comes (soonly),
I'll update people on some coming attractions:
1. Superman: True Brit - A John Cleese version of the Krypton-born Superheo, where instead of landing in Smallville, instead lands in a small, very English village in Britain. He ends up writing for the Daily Smear, but does not yet lead his double-life, as his parents have taught him to hide his abnormal super powers. But soon he is called into action, as the Super hero everyone relies on. The question on everybody's lips must surely be: What would the neighbours think?? OCTOBER 2004
2. Clerks X - One of my favourite films is getting a special 10 year DVD release. It looks very, very good. So good in fact, I am considering buying the Region 1 DVD because there doesn't seem to be an iminent release of the Region 2 here or anywhere. REGION 1 -SEPTEMBER 2004
3. The Passion of the Clerks - This is the biggy. Clerks is getting a sequel!! It was only announced the other day, but this looks like it will be fuckign brilliant. I don't personally like the title, I hope they change it. This is bound to kick arse, mainly cos Kevin Smith said so. Coming? Sometime in 2006
4. Shaun Of The Dead DVD - Now anyone who has seen this, may agree with me that it's this year's best comedy/horror/British film. The guys are currently touring America (boo) running up support and a healthily big enough audience for a small British film. I've already ordered it off Amazon. The extras look groov. One of them is Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright presenting the first draft of the script on a flipchart. This is how all films should be made, gratuitous doodlings and all. Out on September 12 2004
5. Harry Potter 6 is coming out soon. Apparantly, it's quite popular around these parts. We've got an exclusive excerpt here

Well thats this update's list for now, I know its pretty small but it's packed with lots of exciting information (probably)...

Oh yeah, since the last update I went on holiday. That was fun. I went to New York for a week and then on the Florida. New York was ok, I've been once already this year so it was basically retracing my steps most of the time. Although I DID jump on a ferry to New Jersey for a day and went to see the shop that Clerks was fimed in. Talk about surreal! I couldn't resist buying some Gatorade! I then went to the Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash store in Red Bank, I managed to get about 3 InAction figues, one of Silent Bob, one of Dante, and one of Brodie from Mallrats. They're on the mantlepiece standing around the mini DeLorean. Being InAction figures they are, naturally, doing pretty much nothing on the whole. Here's a pic to prove it.

After New York came Florida, which was really nice. It was rediculously hot. We managed to get a house for about 75 quid a night. now bear in mind, the room was £100 a night bewteen four. And that was one of the poxyest, tinyest rooms I've ever seen. The house had 3 main lounge areas, 4 TVs and DVD players, five bedrooms, 4 of which en-suite, a dining room, a great kitchen, a garage AND a pool for £75 a NIGHT. I feel like we ripped them off a bit. Oh well musn't complain. The only bad thing about Florida was the last night. We'd just got home from Universal Studios (who are full of shit, I can't be bothered to go into a rant about their ignorance of film FACT or queue management) (but the Blues Brothers tribute acts were really good!), when mum came into the lounge from the dining room. She had found a snake. Oh bugger, we thought. Luckily, we had a Florida travel book (Lonely Planet, very good) for reference. "Florida has six native deadly snakes." So we decided to phone the police for help. Great help they are!
Us: "Hello, we're British and have rented a house. We have a snake in the house"
Them:"You'll have to phone an Animal Trapper sir, look in a phone book"
Us:"We don't have a phone book"
Them:"Find somewhere else that does"
And they hung up. Lovely! We went around the neighbouring houses looking for a local. They we all British. Yippee. So we decided to bugger off to a hotel for the night. The dining room didn't have doors so it had access to the whole bottom floor, including the master bedroom (Mine) which I shotgunned...

What a lovely eventful holiday. I must go now, it looks like I've written a lot, so i'll reserve my typing for some other time. There's a link to the photos of Quick Stop (Clerks store) here

Goodbye cruel world

Pinch, punch for the first day of the month.
Wow, June wasn't at all baaad. I've been pretty busy, what with exams, work and lazing about in general. I've started climbing down at The Tower at Beaumont Leys Leisure Centre. It's lots of fun. There are some really REALLY tough climbs down there that i'd love to try once i'm 'back' in 'shape'.

But, what else has thy Ian-ness been up to, I hear you ask?

Alas, I shall list them below:
1. Working as much as I can
2. 'Researching' horror films for personal reference (film geeks need to be in the know geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek, you know)
3. Climbing a bit more (Yay!)
4. Began the writing of a very, very poorly written horror script. I've got more or less two scenes so far, and it appears to be coming along swimmingly whenever I get the chance to 'ave a go, sort of thing. Scenes one and two are officially fused together! Yay!
5. Making major/minor changes to the appearance of the site (the 'monkey' thing at the needs to be changed so, so badly. I'm gonna change it. I promise. Just as soon as the computer stops refusing)

There is some fantastic news: the Red Dwarf film looks like it will finally get off the ground! clickity click here for more info! John Cleese's website looks like it also will finally be seen, after months of waiting, it will be here soon.
Well that be it for now, I really can't think of anything else to note.

Oh, yeah, you know how you all like to buy Ian climbing gear?

I saw Shrek 2 last week. Go and see it, it's ruddy brilliant! Well, that's it for now.

The TagBoard is fixed. Silly me.

London was quite fun. I felt a bit surreal seeing some of the famous London places, even though i hadn't intended to, it was quite odd just being there and seeing some of them by chance. I was really, really impressed by the distance from Raj's flat (not counting the fact that it was on the top floor...) to the cinema! Two corners and you're there! Not even 5 mins! Groovy!

Anywho, I managed to see The Day After Tomorrow while i was down there. Don't even bother going to see it. What a bore *yawns*. Harry Potter 3, however, was really good. I liked the director. Impressive Mexican guy A completely un-stolen smiley

So anyway, aside from a mass of Hollywood 'crap' heading our way, we also have Euro 2004 to think about. Yes, it's a month of footballing fun in which England is sure to put in at least one good performance, then no doubt let us down again. I mean woooooooo England! It's really surprising seeing the amount of St George's flags hanging out of car windows these days. I certainly don't remember it being like this before. Anyone remember as far back as Euro '96? Surely there was a tinkle of patriotism, i sadly can't remember the small details of that 'era'....

Still, i'm sure we'll do well. COME ON EN-GER-LAND!!

Well i'm off to indulge myself in the DVD's that came today. Maybe i should start saving up money.....................

Things that the past few months have made me notice:
1. Don't buy anything from Aldi
2. Ignoring everything your tutor tells you CAN be a good thing
3. Method is also good if repeated in Media (with same teacher)
4. Ditto for Photoraphy
5. UCAS is a PRIORITY!
6. London is bloody expensive
7. Derby Uni sucks
8. James Hatfield (Metalica) sounds a hell of a lot like Otto from The Simpsons
9. Friends ended after 10 years. That makes me 9 when it started. Weird.
10. Is it just me, or is EVERYTHING ending? Friends, Sex and The City, Frasier. The end is nigh people!
11. Lather, Rinse, Repeat (As needed)
12. Staying up until 4am is very, very tiring.
