THE MEANING

The team crest mascot is an albino cory. Reason for the choice of this mascot is due to the agile and hyperactive nature of the fish despite being small in size. It can be seen that the albino cory takes the shape of the letter 'C' which symbolises our nickname the CORYs.

The team crest displays the team name using PLECORY, the scientific name for the albino cory and the word ATHLETICS which represent the purpose of the team to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The team crest also displays its year of formation i.e 1995.

The albino cory is in silver which represents our humility in competitions. On top of the crest there are 3 golden stars to represent the 3 main races in our team i.e Malay, Chinese and Indian. The significance of the golden linings around the crest represent our strong bond as a team for many years. Lastly the blue background represents the vast oceans which we hope will remind us of the opportunities available to improve.
