Let me tell you a little but about myself. My wife, Jennifer, and I are native Austinites. I grew up at Hyde Park Baptist Church and she attended First Baptist Church. We have two children-- Travis is ten years old and Kate is five. During the week I work at the Texas Historical Commission where I have been employed for the past ten years. I have been a bivocational pastor for six years, and I will be completing my Doctor of Ministry degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in December.
Jennifer and I are looking forward to becoming a part of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church family. We have met some wonderful folks at the church these past few months, and I would like to meet you also. This letter is an invitation for you to come join us as we endeavor to serv the Lord. We have Sunday School starting at 9:45am on Sunday Morning. I am preaching through the book of Luke in the worship service, which is at 11:00am. We have choir rehearsal at 5:00pm, and the evening bible study is at 6:00pm. We are beginning a study of the Old Testament starting with the creation story in Genesis.
If a midweek service is more convenient for you, we have prayer meeting at 6:00pm on Wednesdays. I am leading a series of devotional messages on the "endangered qualities" of a Christian.
