On August 14, 1974 a motion was made to set aside a special day for Myers (Smitty) Smith, who roced the entire church building (excluding the Fellowship Hall) by himself with his wife mixing the mortar.
In 1982, the new steeple was erected.
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church has grown from it orgininal group of seven that met on the banks of Onion Creek under a Post Oak Tree to its present membership. It is the great love for God that the people of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church that has enabled the Church to stand for a Hundred Thirty-One years (131 years)
(1870 to 2001).
