MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2

It seems that 2002 ressurected the fighting genre with Tekken 4, Mortal Kombat:DA, Virtua Fighter 4, and many others such as this one. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is a simple 2D fighter were you can unlock tons of characters using points you got from fighting in arcade mode. The really neat thing about this game is that the arcade mode features a three character match which allows you to choose 3 characters to use to fight with. This game will definatly keep you entertained because it's so much fun to fight and collect points and unlock new characters and since theres over 20 characters to unlock you have a blast. Playing against a friend is also a huge high light of the game. The graphics are very good and all the special flashy attacks the PS2 can handle well but since it's only a 2D fight theres not alot of 3D detail. The control is flawless and alot of fun if you use fast characters such as Venom and Spider Man. The sound is just a little too cartoonish for me it's kinda like a bunch of "groovy" sounds that were even bad for the 70's. This is a solid fighter for the PS2 but if you are looking for a true fighter Virtua Fighter 4 is the one to get.

METAL GEAR SOLID 2: SONS OF LIBERTY

The first MGS game was such a success that it was only fair that they release a sequel. In MGS2 you will play as Solid Snake and Raiden. For about and hour into the game you play as Solid Snake in the tanker chapter. After that you will play as Raiden( remember him from VR missions)? Anyways you are trying to stop Ocelot and the Sons of Liberty from using the Metal Gear Ray for there evil little plans. You will get tons of weapons to take out the enemys of MGS2. The graphics are brilliant and FMV's are greatly detailed and devolop the story nicly. The only real downsides are is this game is short and very easy. I beat it in ten hours and never died on the boses but just stupid stuff like falling off ledges and being shot at without doing anything about it for some strange reason. Even though the story line is great some areas of the game can get very stupid. Towards the end of the game your commander goes nuts. I won't tell you why but it's weird. Plus the fact that there actually a vampire in the game named Vamp is pretty retarded plus you fight him 3 times. Control is kinda weird because it's hard to shoot anything without being in first person mode. The stealth part is greatly emphasized because if you are caught it's not pretty because alot of gaurds come to try and take you out plus you'll use your dart gun alot more than the Socom in some areas but towards the end of the game it's better to just kill everything in your path that way if you have to go back there you don't have to deal with them anymore. This is a great game and the best (I think) game in the stealth/shooter genre and even beats Splinter Cell but not by much.

VIRTUA FIGHTER 4

Like is said in the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 review 2002 ressurected the fighting genre. This game is what got it started. This game sold so quick that it went to greatest hits the same year it came out. This game is a real hit indeed. You can play as over ten characters in several different arenas. This is probably one of the hardest fighting games I have ever played. You travel through 14 defferent levels all to get to Dural. Dural is the final boss and if you get to her and lose you have to starts all over again because you can't replay her. The graphics are great everything is greatly detailed and shiny. The environments are beautifully rendred. Water, lights, and everything else are great and characters look very realistic. The control is a dwonside though because the analog doesn't work!! WHY??? But anyways everything else is great and this is truly a flawless fight and you know what that means. Flawless score.

ARMORED CORE 3
I just picked up a copy of this game yesterday and I think it's a pretty decent game. I read some other reviews on it and so far it hasn't exactly got the best reviews but just ok(6,7,8). We'll this is probably the most deep mech game I have ever played. There are over 150 upgrades and a ton of missions. When I played the first few levels it was a breeze and I thought that I would have this thing beat in a week. Then it got pretty hard and then I looked at how much I accomplished and it was only 3%!! Oh well. The graphics are decent but not the best they are a little bland and levels are like big boxs and have little things to interact with. The other downside is that you can't blow things up such as walls, buildings, etc. I have never played an Armored Core game ever but I could tell that the control was not welcoming to first timers, I had some troubles with it. The sound was actually pretty decent but with every step you took there was a big loud noise so that was kinda annoying. Yes there are some major flaws in this game but you can't just keep a good series down. I did some reserch and even though there are only 3 sequals there are a ton of expansions. There are about 6 games out now and another expansion for this one coming out in July. This is a good game and a great addition to the mech genre but like i said. Major flaws plus the multiplayer is totall crap.
