Devil May Cry Review
Spahda, a demon warrior arouse one day to integrity. He was bold enough to defeated the demon army and also incarcerate their emperor, Mundus, who was in the process in trying to save the world. A private investigator of the supernatural, awoke one day in the American metropolis, a man named Dante, he is seeking vengeance for the decease of his mother and humble brother. Yet, Dante comes head to head with his vocation, the evil Mundus and he has a new arise. The world is patiently waiting, for Dante; he is no ordinary man, for he has the power of his fathers sword, which shall destroy possessed demons, and save the world.

The graphics are clean, crisp, and look amazing and it is another example of what the Playstation 2 can do. The high-resolution graphics go from Dantes individual hairs and each and every stone that is used to build the castles. There are no jagged edges, vibrant shading and lighting and atmospheric environments. Every character has there own unique look and expressions. Capcom put their foot down on this one. The blasts of the weapons are really interesting. There is nothing else you could possibly want with a game, graphics wise. This has a well-deserved 10 out of 10.

The game makes use of ambient noises, which works well, they use not too much and no too little. Certain areas have a unique sound that comes off as nice. Atmospheric sounds are realistic and low key, even if it's as simple as birds flapping their wings. The music is a variety of things. I like most of the songs, but sorry to say there's only one individual type of tune played for battles with opponents. There are only 5 tracks, 3 of them are used on different bosses. The other one is used for mini battles and the last tune is used for when battling ordinary enemies. The standard music for these types of games is techno. Thankfully, it used a type of faced paced rock. The tracks use earned a 9/10.

Devil May Cry has the most perfect control and implementation of any action game I've played in recent years. The close-in attack is used with circle, and you use your guns by holding down R1 and hitting triangle. His handguns are the most fun weapons you will earn, you rapidly mash the triangle button while hold R1. Devil May Cry allows you to execute large fatal amount of attacks, such as shooting an enemy a few times to stun them, blow them up in with your 9MM, or use your special and finish them. Many enemies attack in groups, if they fought one by one, it would get quite boring. Some cannot be seen on the screen. This is my only pick with this game. Some enemies could be right behind you and not know. Other than this the camera angles are the best Ive seen, along with the Onimusha series. After you destroy an enemy, it spits out red orbs. When you collect these orbs you have the option to create a bigger and worse weapons, but most of all, they look cooler and cooler every time. Also, you can fill your life and increase your demon gage. The demon gage allows you to use devil actions. The holds 24 missions, which all require you to meet a certain goal. It keeps things new, and guarantees that challenges will be ample. It also eliminates a lot of the aimless wandering, which is common in a lot of shooters. Bosses can be difficult. Once you die a few times you learn more and more ways to get more and more hits on the enemy until it dies. They all require strategy, skill and quick button mashing. Once you beat the normal mode there is a hard mode that is available. I mean EXTREMELY HARD. Go ahead, dont believe me, and let me tell you, it is so hard! Items are more expensive, more enemies, enemies inflict more damage and enemies can take more attacks. This game is simply about action. It gets a 9/10.

?. To rent, or to buy? ..BUY! This game is long and is awesome. Besides, its a greatest hit. Devil May Cry is only $20.00 at your local electronics store. You will not regret buying this game. Once you beat it on normal, you'll unlock hard mode, beating that, will unlock an even harder mode. You'll eventually end up with a mode that you can be in Devil Trigger Mode constantly. Also, for every mission, you get ranked on how quickly you complete it. There are ranks; they go from D to S, S being the best. On top of the 25 regular missions, there are 10 secret missions concealed throughout the game. This game is an A++ considering all of Capcoms time and consideration.
