Cortex is an evil-masterminded scientist who has been trying to destroy Crash Bandicoot and his sister, for years. After the years of failure attempts, he thinks he has built the most devious killer, and that the whole world will bow down to him. No matter what, Cortex is always causing a nuisance. As you take the role of both, Crash Bandicoot, and his younger sister, Coco in a wild adventure. They travel through more than 20 levels. They are filled with new enemies and traps. This is the first and only Crash Bandicoot series on the Playstation 2 entertainment center.
The graphics here are unbelievable able for a cartoon animated game. They are nice and smooth and are much better than the Playstation original version. The faces have good definition and are smooth; during the animations there is no sketch. Very fluid. There are many vehicles you can take control of. They are good looking and are detailed. When the sun is out, you can see the sun reflecting off the hood of the SUV. You also can fly an airplane, and when it takes damage the smoke and fire coming out is realistic, as the Dual Shock 2 controller rumbles at the same time. When Crash Bandicoot is walking through a level his shadow is always aside of him, and it is always on the opposite side as the sun. These graphics are the most realistic cartoon graphics ever to hit the Playstation 2.
The controls are easy to learn and are simple. No combinations are needed to know, just the directional pad, X, triangle, circle and square. There are only a few new controls; one is a tiptoe, which lets you walk over Nitro crates, unique to this game. Other moves include ones you may have already seen, such as the Crash Dash (sprint), and the Bazooka, all of which control nicely. The levels are pretty easy, but are really long. Like others, after you beat the levels you have to collect all of the gems. Once you collect all of the gems needed from every level, go to the center of the main room, and you get five bonus levels. You control over 15 vehicle throughout the game, which all of them are either 3 quarters of the level and then you jump onto land, or you control the vehicle the entire time. The most fun vehicle is the sphere when you ride down Snowy Top Mountain in a red sphere, you roll allll the way down, until you hit the rock and you pop out and finish the level by foot. In this series, you can take the role of Coco, Crash Bandicoots sister, and she is fully useable, on foot and even for riding vehicles. She has her own move, the sweep kick and she is as easy to control as Crash.
The music and sounds are the same as the past five series. The background music is the tempo, with a little remix to the tune. Crash spinning and all the Nitro and TNT crates are identical. The sound while it is loading is the same also; they could have added some new noises, but no. It doesnt bother me. (5/10)
The bosses are much harder than usual, so I dont recommend this for younger audiences. After you finish you must collect the other crystals in the levels, and beat the 5 **bonus** levels, if you do not complete this, you DID NOT beat the videogame. This games replayability is pretty high. There are large levels, and many worlds, so it can be hours of dun, and the bosses are fun to replay. (9/10)
Rent this game, once you beat everything, there isnt much to it because there is not multiplayer games or bonus modes. |
