Tracey Egan of Thorold, Ontario was named Champion of the 2006 Summer Quoit Invitational as she managed to knock out 2 of the 3 previous years champions being Brian Brunaccioni in the Quarter-Finals and then Ed Mandula 2 games to zip in the Championships.
Last year she made it all the way to the finals with a fantastic string of victories and ringerism but then faultered in the finals giving the Championship to Jamie Brunaccioni. This year there was no faultering. She came to win and thats exactly what she did. With 19 ringers in 8 games she became the first ever female to wear the legendary and prestigious green jacket.
Congratulations go out to Ed Mandula of Caledonia, Ontario for being the runner-up. Ed managed to escape the craziness of the native indians in Caledonia to be at this years event. But the normally calm and cool quoiteer was not so cool this year as sweat was seen dripping off his balding head as he was told that he would be playing Tracy in the finals. He gave it his all but the magic was not there and he was beaten 2 games straight.
Congratulations also go out to Tyler Russ of Niagara Falls, Ontario for capturing the ringer title with 16 ringers in the preliminary rounds.
