Welcome
to the coaching sessions of PLAY
MUSIC KEYBOARD (part one). This manual uses musical scripts that
contain numbers to play the song. It’s a unique methodology that uses numerical
logic and color perception connected to music to make the learner perceive
sound and play the keyboard.
The numerical script to play the song is
accompanied by two sets of song files. The first set of audio file of the song
contains the whole song, which is played without any interruption. While the
second set of the song file contains the song played line by line from the
musical script box. Each row of the music script makes a song line. This
enables the learner not to get lost in the maze of numbers and tackle each song
line by line.
The E book has been separated in to
individual booklets, to promote the idea of limited intake of new paradigms,
which you can practically apply in your day-to-day life. When you are presented
with a whole bucket of variety cookies, you simply loose interest. But when you
are presented with a different cookie everyday, you savor it with much pleasure.
I wish you all the very best in your
quest for learning keyboard and would appreciate your feedback to upgrade this
coaching manual.
KEYBOARD PRIMER
Keyboard is a lovely
instrument with light and dark keys. Whatever the size of the keyboard you have
it is inevitably arranged with light and dark keys one after the other. Here is
the sample design of a keyboard.
The white keys represent a
particular type of sound and the dark key next to it provides the same sound
with a sharper tone.
The layout of keyboard is
the same, but the number of white keys and dark keys vary with each keyboard.
This is a rough
representation of a normal keyboard. This keyboard consists of five octaves.

What if your keyboard has only three octaves? How
do you locate the Mid Octave? The octave that is in the middle of all the
octaves of your keyboard represents the Mid Octave of your keyboard.
The notes of the octave C,
D, E, F, G, A, B, C is being numbered as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 for easy understanding.
The entire songbook is number based. And the sharp of the notes in black keys
are represented with the number followed with sharps. Like 1#, 2#, 3#, 4#, 5#,
6# and7#
