| Unfortunately, I sold my 1983 280ZX Turbo this past April, but Carey's giving it a good home. My step-dad bought the car brand new and was nice enough to give it to me for my High School graduation. The car was bone stock when it came into my hands. But as it is an old car, and I subscribe to the idea that when something breaks replace it with the best, it didn't stay stock for long. The turbo's compressor housing has been bored out and a larger Y-Trim T-4 compressor wheel was installed. Boost has been raised from a stock 5 psi to 12 psi via a manual boost controller. The injectors are larger 275cc units from RC Engineering and the plug wires are 8.5mm from Magnecore. The suspension has been upgraded with Eibach Springs and Tokico Shocks. All of the bushings have been replaced w/ urethane and camber kits have been installed. The intake was replaced with a custom pipe and K&N cone filter. The exhaust consists of custom 3" mandrel bent alluminized piping with a staight through stainless steel muffler from Thermal. The brakes were upgraded w/ Power Stop cross drilled rotors and Axxis pads. The rear end has been replaced with a viscous limited slip out of an '89 300ZX Turbo, raising the ratio from a stock 3.35 to 3.71. And the body has been reworked with an Aero II Kit from Motorsport Auto. If you happen to call Motorsport, ask for LJ (little Joe) and he will take care of you. |
