HOW TO HOLD THE FLUTE

Its Important to hold the flute the right way to be able to go around playing well. Holding the flute horizondally straight is the apt position for a beginner. Given below is a sample picuture of the holding position.

Use the middle three fingers of your left hand to cover the first three holes of the flute and the middle three fingers of right hand to cover the fourth, fifth and sixth holes of the flute. You can use your tiny fingers to cover the sixth hole if you find it difficult to stretch your fourth finger.

When the player tilts the flute downwards from his horizondal stance, the sound of the flute becomes less audible and when he tilts the flute upwards, the sound becomes more audible. He or she can create a bratto sound by gently shaking the flute as he plays.
