NUMBER SCRIPT

The song script given in the flute book is number based as earlier explained in form of full notes and half note positions. The notes are seperated from one another, with the help of commas.Let me explain with this simple song line, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, can be transformed in to number script position to play it in flute in the following manner:

Happy Birthday To You

5, #6, 4,-,5,-,2,-,4,-,-,-

where you first play the fifth note position for one beat, and shift to play half note in sixth position and the play fourth note position for two beats and then second note positon for two beats and finally fourth note position for four beats.
