| 1) Why the name "Play"? What does it mean? It stands for: PLAY MUSIC! Be playful and positive, no matter what your age. 2) How do you feel about the term "girl group" and do you consider Play to be a "girl group"? Yeah, we're a girl group... duh! We think people should stop judging girl groups as "just" a girl group. People should see beyond the fact that we are girls and see the four of us for our qualities, our voices and our dance skills. 3) Ana�s, Anna, Rosie & Faye, individually, who are your musical role models? What about non-musical role models? Faye: H�kan Hellstr�m, a Swedish artist, check him out he is great! Ana�s: My role models are my sister (pop singer Amanda) and my Mom. And right now I am a big fan of Christina Aguilera... I thing she rocks! She stands for what she believes in and I totally respect that! Rosie: Promoe. He is a Swedish rapper that really inspires me. Anna: Of course, my Mom is my biggest role model because she is so strong independent and beautiful!! But I really think Justin (Timberlake) is one of my faves. He is a great role model he is sooo cooool... I just love his music. 4) Tell us how it felt to head in to the studio knowing you were making an album that was set to be released around the world? It felt awesome and strange at the same time. To be honest we didn't really realized that millions of people were about to hear our record! But it feels amazingly good to share our music and feelings with all the people out there in this huge wide world. 5) What was it like working on "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" with Chris Trousdale From Dream Street? We hade a blast because Chris is one of those people who can't stop joking around. He really makes everyone else have a great time! Of course, he is very talented so it was great to work with him. 6) Ana�s, Anna, Rosie & Faye, individually, what is your favorite song from the new CD? Your favorite song(s) by other artists? Anna: My favorite Play song is "Just A Little Bit", because we have great choreography to go with the song and I'm really looking forward to performing it. And my favorite album is "Play"... heh heh heh. Also, Justin (Timberlake's) new album "Justified" is great. Faye: My favorite song by another artist? "What is Love?" from the Manu Chau "Clandestino" album. Rosie: I just love Lauryn Hill Ana�s: My favorite Play song is "I Must Not Chase The Boys". I love it because it's sooo different. It raised some strong feelings for me when I first heard it, and I love the fact that it's a little rocky. 7) Ana�s, Anna, Rosie & Faye, individually, what CD is currently in your CD player? What are your favorite CDs of all time? Ana�s: I am huge fan of music by Christina Aguilera, Eminem and Lizzy. Faye: Mano Negra "King of the Bongo." Rosie: Common featuring Mary J. Blige "Come Close to Me" from "The Electric Circus". Anna: Anything by Justin (Timberlake). 8) You are all quite young, do you ever feel like you are missing out on doing normal teen things by being part of an international musical group? If yes, what sorts of things do you feel you are missing out on? Sometimes you miss home and things like that but mostly we just feel thankful for being were we are right now. 9) What is the hardest part/thing about being in a musical group? We haven't discovered any bad sides about being in a group (yet). We love the fact that it feels like we are travelling around and working with family! We are like a big family; Faye, Rosie, Anna, and Ana�s, sisters in song! We all agree that if any one of us were doing this solo it would be really lonely. 10) I'm guessing you have had the chance to work with or at least meet some other celebrities as a result of being in "Play", who have you met that made you think "Wow, this is cool!"? Celine Dion! We really admire her for being such a genuine star/person! She is wonderful and it was really inspiring to work with her (if you can even call it work... it was so fun) ! 11) Surfing the web I see that you already have quite a nice fan following, how does it feel to be in the spotlight and so admired by your peers? That is almost the best part of being a "popstar"! It is indescribable, beautiful and wonderful to have such loving and caring Fans. WE LOVE OUR FANS!!!!!! 12) How do you feel about the idea of being seen as a role model to other girls around the world? Having the opportunity to inspire other young girls/boys is, without a doubt, a blessing. 13) Are you looking forward to going on tour? We are SO exited to perform and get out on tour. We can't wait to perform songs from our new CD (Replay - in stores June 10, 2003) and meet all of our fans! 14) Final thoughts? What do you hope the future holds for "Play"? Oh, that is such a hard question. Right now we are very happy living in the moment. We are living in the present and not really worrying about the future. |
