- Candle in the Wind -
Positive

Positive. It's the only word in Cody's mind right now. Positive. The very same word that describes the outcome of Samantha and his paternity test. Positive. He's the father of that little 4-year old girl that lives in McGregor, Texas. The outcome of that test is going to bring winds of change in his life. And believe it or not, Advantage Wrestling might become a victim of it.
-[ After a long drive to Buffalo, Cody has returned to McGregor, TX without Tomorrow Man. After the Rage event, Tomorrow Man took a flight to Olympia, WA where he had a previously scheduled indy match to wrestle in. In a few days, he and Cody will meet back in their hometown of San Francisco to take a flight to the next AW event. ]-
-[ During the many, many miles of road that Cody has traveled alone back to Texas, he was given time to figure out what the next step would be in entering in daughter's life. First of all, he had to pay a nasty sum of money to the state of Texas for missing 4 years of child support. The money didn't matter to him, it could be made back. What really bothered him was location. He lived in San Francisco while his daughter lived in McGregor. So obviously there is going to be a location strain. ]-
-[ As Cody drives down the dusty dirt road towards Caroline Matthew's house, his cell phone begins to ring. He slows down a bit to reach for his phone that's in his jeans pocket. As it rings again, he looks at the number to see who it is. He doesn't really recall the number right off the bat so he answer it quickly. ]-
Cody: Hello? The Butcher: Hey, Cody.
-[ Cody pulls his truck off the side of the road, knowing that he's going to have an interesting conversation with his mentor, Jimmy Cortez, also known as The Butcher. The Butcher is a charismatic 39-year old retired wrestler that Cody watched growing up as a kid. When he and Tomorrow Man were signed to the GFWA, he was excited that he was going to be working with The Butcher. Who wouldn't be excited to be in a program with someone they had posters of on their wall? ]-
Cody: Hey, Butch. How are you? The Butcher: I'm doing all right. How are you? Cody: I've been better. The Butcher: That's good, but listen, I have some bad news.
-[ Cody leans his head back against his seat, obviously frustrated that things will get worse for him. ]-
The Butcher: It's T-Man. Cody: Oh no, what happened? The Butcher: You know how he was working an indy show in Washington? Cody: Yeah. The Butcher: Well, one of my students had a match on the card so I was there to watch. Tomorrow Man's match came after and he came out of the match holding his left shoulder. Cody: No. The Butcher: He re-injured his shoulder, Cody.
-[ Cody hits the steering wheel in frustration, causing it to honk. ]-
Cody: How bad? The Butcher: He re-tore the left rotator cuff. Cody: Damn it, I told him to take more time off than he did. The Butcher: Well, he's going to work through it for now I guess. I don't know, I guess you'll have to talk to him at the AW event. Cody: Yeah. Hearing that Tomorrow Man is injured is the last thing I wanted to hear. I guess I'll just have to take my frustration out on the Candy man. The Butcher: Candy man? Cody: JJ Skittles. I have a match with him this week. The guy is a washed up AW star that wasn't done much this time around. The Butcher: Well don't take the guy too lightly. He has to be good if he's wrestling for AW. Cody: Naw, I won't take him too lightly. But still, I have bigger and better fish to fry.
-[ Just then a black truck drives past Cody, leaving Caroline's house. As the guy in the truck drives by, he gives Cody a unpleasant look that doesn't sit well with Cody. ]-
Cody: Listen, Butch, I'll call you later. The Butcher: All right, have fun. Cody: Always.
-[ Cody hangs up the phone and sets it on the dashboard. He starts his truck up again and starts to drive towards Caroline's house. As he drives up, he finds Cori outside sitting under the tree in the front lawn. She's cleaning up what appears to have been a picnic. Cori is surprised to see Cody get out of his truck and walking towards her. ]-
Cori: What are you doing here? Cody: Where's Samantha? Cori: She ain't here. Why? Cody: I wanted to take her to town to get her a few things for Christmas since I probably won't be able to make it. Cori: She's with Caroline. Besides, who invited you to Christmas anyway? Cody: Well I figured... Cori: ...You figured wrong.
-[ Cori stands up and starts to fold up the picnic blanket. Cody points behind himself back towards the road. ]-
Cody: Who was that? Cori: Who was who? Cody: That guy that left here. Cori: That was Robert. Cody: Really, who is he? Cori: My boyfriend.
-[ Cody's blood pressure begins to rise as he starts to think that this chick has been taking him for a ride since day one. ]-
Cody: I didn't know there was somebody else in Sam's life. Cori: Yep, he's been around for awhile now. Been helping me and Sam make ends meet while you've been out doin' whatever. Robert is more of a man than you'll ever be!
-[ Cody is a bit thrown off by her demeanor. The other day she seemed like a good person and now she just seems like a total flake. ]-
Cody: What gives? A few days ago you wanted me to see my daughter and now it's like you want me to completely cease to exist! Cori: Dat's right! Cody: I knew you were in it for the money! Cori: Ha! Robert makes more money than you. He's a bull rider!
-[ Cody laughs. ]-
Cody: You're crazy! I make more than a bull rider. You don't know what you want. Cori: Sure I do! Cody: What's that? Cori: You to go away! Cody: You sure?! Cori: Positive! Cody: Fine!
-[ Cody gets back in his truck and slams the door as he starts to pull out of the driveway. As he drives down the road he starts to talk to himself, obviously a bit stressed out. ]-
Cody: Fuckin' woman is crazy!_I can't let my kid live with that bitch!
-[ As Cody runs some more thoughts through his head, he puts the pedal to the metal to speed up. ]-
Cody: God I can't wait to beat the Hell out of JJ Skittles!
-[ With that the scene fades out at Cody continues to mumble some obscenities to himself about Cori-Lynn. Cody isn't that bad of a guy but if he ends up at Tuesday Rage as pissed off as he is, well, JJ Skittles is going to find himself on the wrong side of the fight. ]-
