Last week was a week off and it was desperately needed by Cody and Tomorrow Man. They kept on doing their job when Steven Evans, better known as T-Dogg, died in the beginning of the year. They were good friends with Seattle Sound and his death just was a blow to the wrestling world. They moved on though, just like T-Dogg would have wanted them too. But a little under a month they get hit with another twist that life throws your way. Their best friend, GFWA legend, and childhood hero, The Butcher died at the hands of Frostie in a Butch Match. Moving on now that their father figure is gone seems almost impossible and the gfwa OMEGA Front Office knew that. They gave the emotionally distraught Cody and Tomorrow Man a week off because the way they were acting wasnt going to do anybody any good. The week was a relaxing one. They both went back to San Francisco on Wednesday after The Butchers body was laid to rest. They didnt want to go, but Nikki knew they had to go back because they havent been home in 3 weeks. So they took the whole week off to rest their minds and their bodies for next week. Well, now that the week has past, Cody and Tomorrow Man were expecting to have to prepare for a match but that isnt the case. The Front Office gave them another week off! Two straight weeks? Something must be going on. March 31st is the next pay-per-view and the big pay off match-up that places the GHC Tag Team Champions against Doozer and Razor Blade. Right now, Cody and Tomorrow Man are the Tag Team Champions. Are they quietly being set-up to lose the titles behind the scenes? I wouldnt put it past the Front Office and neither would A Tendency 2 Start Fires. So much is going on right now you dont know where Cody and Tomorrow Man might show up next. This can be certain: they wont be taking this week off. Theyve done their grieving. Theyve paid their respects. Now its time for them to move on and this weekend will prove that they are going to do just that. They have been marked men it appears and you can be sure they wont sit back and wait to bite the bullet. But where will they head to first? Their anger with Frostie is far from over and just continues to grow each week, especially now that hes taken Payne out of the picture permanently. The feud between them and The Manhattan Project seemed short lived but you know once this Triple Crown Challenge is over, Bronx and Brooklyn will have their eyes set on Cody and Tomorrow Man. Razor Blade and Doozer seem to be the logical choice to worry about but you never know. All we can do is wait until global TV to see who Cody and Tomorrow Man really concern themselves with.
-[ Its around 6:30 PM in Harlem, New York when the phone rings. We are in The Butcher and Nikkis home but no one seems to be there as the phone rings a second time. Shots of the kitchen, living room, and back porch are shown to illustrate that no one is downstairs. We go upstairs to see if anyone is up there. As soon as we make it up a few stairs, a door is heard quickly opening and closing. Nikki is seen running across the small corridor to the right and into her bedroom. She is just is wearing a white towel from her chest to her knees and another slightly wet towel wrapped around her head to give the impression that she just got out of the shower. The phone rings again for the fifth time, making you think the call is urgent, so she picks it up before the other end goes dead. ]-
Nikki: Hello? Voice on Phone: May I speak with a Mrs. Nicole Cortez?
-[ The voice on the other end is a man who has an Irish accent which makes her wonder who it could possibly be. ]-
Nikki: Youre talking to her.
-[ There is a slight silence and it appears that the person on the other end might be a little nervous. There is a lot of commotion in the background on the other end, so one would assume that this person is in a busy place. ]-
Voice on Phone: Im glad I could reach you! This is Doctor OConnell from Strong Hospital in Virginia. How are you?
-[ Nikki takes a seat on her bed and wonders why hes calling. ]-
Nikki: Im doing better than the last time we saw each other. How are you? O'Connell: Im doing great. I was on break so I decided to call you.
-[ More silence that lasts for about 10 seconds. ]-
Nikki: Umwhy? O'Connell: Sorry about that. There are a few things that I have to tell you. Promise me you wont hang up. Nikki: All right. I promise. O'Connell: Now the first part sounds out of the ordinary but bear with me. You have been on my mind since the day you left to go back to your home state. I felt so bad for you and your loss and I hated the fact that I couldnt do anything about it. Nikki: Thats so sweet and believe me, you did more for me than you think. O'Connell: Ive only been in this country for a few months but Ive done a lot and Ive met a lot of people. You are one of the finest people Ive met since Ive come here and I couldnt help being attracted to you. Are you still there?
-[ Nikki almost hangs up the phone and probably would have had he been anyone different. ]-
Nikki: Yeah, Im still here. Why are you telling me all of this? O'Connell: Ill get to that in a second. If we didnt live in totally different states, I probably would have asked you to dinner but Im glad I didnt seeing as you are a married woman. Nikki: To be honest, Doctor O'Connell: Call me Andrew. Nikki: To be honest, Andrew, you are an attractive man to me, and had the location problem and the circumstances been different, I would have loved to go out with you. Im not just saying this either. You are a sweet and thoughtful man and youve got the qualities of a guy that I would go out with now that Jimmy has passed. O'Connell: Youre going to go out with other guys again? Nikki: Yes. Im young and Jimmy knew that in his line of work there were many things that could have happened to him. He made it perfectly clear that if something terrible were to happen to him, he would understand me finding someone else. He wanted me to be happy and he knew that I wouldnt be happy alone for the rest of my life.
-[ There is another short set of silence and you get the impression that OConnell is probably cursing at God for letting Nikki live so far away. ]-
O'Connell: All right Mrs. Cortez Nikki: Call me Nikki. O'Connell: Nikki, now that we have that out of the way, I have something very important to tell you. Nikki: You have something more important to tell me? Im a lucky girl. O'Connell: Yes, well all I would need to do was make a few phone calls and I could be transferred to a hospital in your area. But I wont do that because we could never be. Nikki: Why not? O'Connell: Are you sitting down? Nikki: Yes, why? Whats going on?
-[ Doctor OConnells voice get really serious as Nikki continues to listen in. ]-
O'Connell: There was a mix-up at the hospital when your husband died. In the room next door a man died a few short hour before Jimmy. This man had a clause in his will that once he died his body could be used for science, particularly in the study of why people die. Jimmys body was placed next to this mans body downstairs in the morgue. Well, somehow their toe tags got switched. Nikki: What? O'Connell: An investigation has been started by the hospital to find out how it happened. But that isnt the important part. Jimmy went through a series of lab tests to see the effects that death had on the body, especially the brain. A CAT scan was taken of his brain and there were some abnormalities. Nikki: Like what kind of abnormalities? O'Connell: I have the results right here with me and Im looking at them right now. During the time the test was taken there was some activity in the cerebral cortex area Nikki: How is that possible? O'Connell: The lab technicians were not sure. In all cases of CAT scans taken after death there was no activity present in that area of the brain. Jimmy was the only one. So the lab technicians took some more test. They took some of his blood and put it under a microscope. Amazingly, they found that the blood cells were showing signs of repair. More tests were taken and he failed them all! He wasnt dead!
-[ Nikkis face becomes sour with anger because she doesnt believe a word hes saying now. ]-
Nikki: No! Why are you doing this to me?! O'Connell: Dont hang up! Do you have a fax machine? Ill send the results to you. I swear Im not making this up! Nikki: Then why am I hearing about this from you? Why right now? O'Connell: The hospital is sweeping this under rug. They dont want anyone to know about it because it will make them look bad and possible lawsuits could start. They told me to keep it quiet after I found out. Ill surely be fired and sent back to Ireland if they find out Im telling you any of this! Whats your fax number? Nikki: I believe you for some reason. I dont need the results and Im sure they will track the number and find out that you sent me the results. But what do I do now? Jimmy has already been buried! O'Connell: Nikki, his coma went into an even deeper state. It has been known to happen. People have been known to show all the signs of death but they arent really dead because their body goes into deep remission to fix the body internally. When these people have been unburied, there have been signs of clawing on the caskets because they have been buried alive! There is still a chance that hes alive, Nikki!
-[ Nikki hears the doorbell downstairs. ]-
Nikki: I have to go! Call me back later tonight, ok? O'Connell: I will and I will pray for you as well. Nikki: Thank you! Bye!
-[ Nikki hangs up the phone and quickly makes her way down the stairs to see who is at the door and to tell them to wait so she can get dressed. The scene fades out as she gets to the bottom of the stairs. ]-
