Doctor: Gentlemen, we need to talk.
-[ Cody and Tomorrow Man look at each other with fear because they know that there can only be bad news if the doctor wants to talk to them. He is a young doctor, you know, sort of like the typical suave doctor that every woman is attracted to on the soap operas. His black hair is cut short and his face looks slightly shaven. He probably shaved and hour ago but he�s so macho that it�s already starting to grow back. You can tell he isn�t from the area because he has an Irish accent, so he must have just moved here. The doctor looks at his watch and notices that the timing is perfect for him. ]-
Doctor: Here�s the deal. I�ve got a break right now and I�m going to use it to talk to you two. Follow me.
-[ Cody and Tomorrow Man nod and follow the doctor down the hall way. Cody makes one last check on Nikki and notices that she has stopped crying momentarily and seems to be talking to The Butcher quietly. He knows that she is in good hands for now, so he follows the doctor. The three walk farther down the hall and stop at a filled elevator. ]-
Doctor: Hold that door for us, nurse!
-[ A nurse inside the elevator smiles back and holds the elevator doors open. ]-
Doctor: Thank you.
-[ The three get in and the doors close. The doctor pushes the first floor button and the elevator makes it�s way up to drop off other people. Cody and Tomorrow Man notice that the nurse is holding a small cooler and is wearing gloves. ]-
Doctor: What sort of organ do you have today, nurse?
Nurse: Today, I�ve got a nice healthy donated heart. The boys up in the O.R. are waiting for the package.
Doctor: Always late, aren�t you nurse?
-[ The doctor and nurse laugh but Cody and Tomorrow Man don�t find joking about death funny at all. The elevator comes to a halt and the doors open. The nurse walks out with the donated heart and then the doors close again. As the elevator makes its way down to the first floor, nothing is said at all. The doctor looks at his watch again to see what the time is. He then takes his stethoscope off his neck and cleans the end of it on his bleached white coat to pass the time. Finally, the elevator stops at the first floor and the doors open up. The three get out with most of the other people in the elevator and make their way towards the cafeteria. As they enter the loud cafeteria, you notice all the doctors and nurses on break. They all seem to be having a relatively good time on break. The doctor nods to a few of his colleagues and looks for an open booth. He finds one on the other side of the cafeteria and walks towards it with Cody and Tomorrow Man following closely. ]-
Doctor: Take a seat, gentlemen, and I�ll be with you momentarily.
-[ The Irish doctor walks over to a buffet like area and starts to pick out some food quickly. Cody and Tomorrow Man take a seat next to each other and wait. ]-
Tomorrow Man: What do you think he wants to tell us?
Cody: I don�t know but I have a feeling it can�t be good.
Tomorrow Man: I know.
-[ The doctor walks back over to the table with a tray full of foods like: apples, salads, a couple sandwiches, and some juice. He grabs one of the juice boxes and pops the straw in for a brief sip. ]-
Doctor: Go ahead and help yourselves, gentlemen. The food really isn�t that bad.
-[ He smiles but Cody and Tomorrow Man give him a look to show that they aren�t in the mood for any laughter. ]-
Doctor: All right then. I�m Doctor O�Connell. What are your names?
Cody: Skip the pleasantries, doc. Is Jimmy going to make it or not?
-[ Doctor O�Connell grabs an apple and bites into it. He chews slowly as he thinks over the question and comes to a decision. ]-
Doctor: It�s hard to say at this point. I�ve been a doctor for a few years now and I�ve never seen anything like this when I was back in Ireland. He has substantial damage to his left arm, shoulder, and neck muscles. His arm has a terrible break in it and his collar bone was dislocated. Now, in the operating room we popped his collar bone back into position and we placed a small cast on his arm for it to semi-heal. He will undoubtedly need many more surgeries to repair ligament and muscle damage. But that doesn�t matter right now.
Cody: Why?
Doctor: As you can see, he is in a comatose state. The trauma to his body from the burns shut his body down and there is no timetable as to when he�ll wake up�if he ever will. His burns are very serious and they alone can kill him. There is a large risk that he can have kidney failure due to some internal injuries he sustained. To answer your question, his chances are not good. To tell you the truth, I�m surprised he even made it to the hospital alive.
-[ Cody and Tomorrow Man sink in the bad news as Doctor O�Connell finishes his apple. He places the core on the tray, takes a drink of juice, and then unwraps a sandwich. ]-
Tomorrow Man: But there is a chance he can survive right?
Doctor: Yes, but I�m not sure if life will be worth living to him. He could be in rehabilitation for many years and if his kidneys don�t hold up, he could be on a dialysis machine for the rest of his life. I tried to tell all of this to his girlfriend�
Cody: Wife.
Doctor: Right. She doesn�t seem to want to listen to the facts of the matter. There is little we can do and she has to understand that. He could pass away at any given moment. He may survive the night or he may not. He might survive a month but he�ll still be in an unstable condition. Mrs. Cortez needs to understand that because she could end up worst when the inevitable happens. You need to tell her that she has to prepare for the worst.
-[ Suddenly, Doctor O�Connell�s pager goes off and he looks at it. ]-
Doctor: Rats! I�m on call again. But please take what I said into consideration. She has to prepare for this and there is little I can do as a doctor. You guys have to help her or the end result could kill her as well.
-[ He reaches into his coat and pulls out a piece of paper. He jots down a number real quick and sets the paper on the table. ]-
Doctor: If you need any help or need any questions answered, please give me a call. I�ll be around most of the day so you should be able to find me. Good luck, gentlemen.
-[ Doctor O�Connell stands up, shakes their hands and leaves to go save another life. Cody stands up and moves over to the other side of the table and grabs an apple. ]-
Cody: Frostie will pay for this, T-Man. You know it and I know it.
-[ Tomorrow Man nods. ]-
Cody: In most cases, Butch would get revenge for himself but not this time. We have to do it for him. We can�t forget.
-[ Tomorrow Man nods again as Cody bites into the apple. ]-
Cody: Right now, wrestling someone is unimportant but I don�t feel that way. I need to fight Frostie. I need to make him pay for this. I need to break him. I don�t care if he�s a freak. I don�t care if he�s at a loss because his canal pal died. All I care about is fucking this guy up. I don�t think you understand how much I want to destroy this man.
Tomorrow Man: I do. I feel the same way.
Cody: Butch knew the risk and he accepted it with open arms but Nikki doesn�t need to go through this. You heard the doctor. This is going to kill her.
Tomorrow Man: That�s why we have to be there for her, man. That�s why we have to go back upstairs and help her now.
Cody: Then why are we sitting down here for? Lets go.
-[ Cody and Tomorrow Man stand up and leave the tray of food on the table. They leave the cafeteria and make their way towards an elevator. The doors shut before they can get in. ]-
Cody: Damn it!
Tomorrow Man: Sixth floor, right?
Cody: Yeah.
Tomorrow Man: Follow me.
-[ Tomorrow Man opens a door to the stairway and looks up at all the stairs. ]-
Tomorrow Man: Six flights of stairs isn�t that bad.
-[ Before Tomorrow Man�s echoing voice can cease, the two start to rush up the stairs. As they get to the third floor they notice that there are a lot more stairs than they expected but they don�t stop. Exhaustion doesn�t matter when you�re fighting for people you care about. On the fourth floor they run past a doctor and nurse who are making out. Cody and Tomorrow Man just keep on running up each stair. Finally, they reach the sixth floor and open the door. They get past their laboring breathe and walk a few feet away towards The Butcher�s room. Nikki has closed the blinds on the window so no one can see what�s going on in there. Cody knocks on the door slightly and walks in with Tomorrow Man. They notice that Nikki is sleeping in a chair next to The Butcher and is still holding his hand. As Tomorrow Man closes the door, she stirs a little and then wakes up. She looks at Cody and Tomorrow Man and gives them a smile. ]-
Nikki: Hi, guys.
Cody: We didn�t mean to wake you.
Nikki: It�s ok. I didn�t mean to fall asleep.
Tomorrow Man: How is he?
Nikki: I don�t know. I thought I felt him squeeze my hand.
-[ The room goes silent momentarily but Cody starts to become enraged with the scene. ]-
Cody: Frostie is going to pay for this you know. I�m not going to let him get away with this. He went too far and so will I this weekend. No one does this to the people I know! No one puts a man down like this and gets away with it!
Nikki: Don�t do it!
Cody: It�s too late. I have to now.
Nikki: I don�t want this to happen to you! I won�t let it!
Tomorrow Man: I�ll watch his back.
-[ Nikki thinks for a moment, thinking of how to get her friend out of this. ]-
Nikki: What about Devilz Darkside? Forget Frostie! Go after them!
Cody: No! Devilz Darkside may have stole the titles but do you think we care? Stealing titles is so old. There is no point to do it. A belt is just a symbol of what you�ve accomplished and that�s all. We are the champions and everyone knows that. So walking around with the titles doesn�t mean a thing. Don�t get me wrong, they will get what they deserve sooner or later but Frostie is the main man right now. I won�t let The Butcher die without his form of revenge!
Nikki: No! He won�t die! He will take care of it. I promise. Don�t put yourself at risk!
Cody: I can�t stop it now! The match has already been signed and I will not back down.
-[ Cody and Tomorrow Man make their way towards the door. ]-
Nikki: Where are you going?
Cody: To take care of some unfinished business. Take care of him for us, Nikki. He will be proud of what I will do to Frostie this weekend. Butch taught me well and I will survive. I promise to come back.
-[ Cody walks out the door, possessed with anger. Tomorrow Man starts to follow him but Nikki stops him. ]-
Nikki: Tomorrow Man, wait!
Tomorrow Man: Yeah?
Nikki: Promise me you�ll make sure Cody doesn�t end up like Jimmy. Can you do that?
Tomorrow Man: I promise.
-[ Nikki gives him a slight smile, still not happy that Cody is going to fight Frostie but a little relieved he won�t be doing it alone. Tomorrow Man walks out the door to catch up with Cody as Doctor O�Connell walks in to check up on The Butcher. ]-
