-|- Today we open the scene up at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Francisco. It's about 5:30 AM on this Wednesday, August 1, 2001. The room the gorgeous from its clean carpets to the gold trim along the walls. This room is definitely fit for a king. The one bed hotel room smells of a mixture of both freshly delivered flowers and the pine smell of the wooden furniture. The room also has probably the greatest view in the Bay Area. From outside the window you can see the Golden Gate Bridge and a beach along the coast. The sun is beginning to rise giving a beautiful scene that a modern day painter would even drool over. The silence of the morning is broken by a phone ringing from somewhere in the room. It rings four times and finally the guest of honor awakes from his slumber, angered. The Butcher, sleeping next to his girlfriend Nikki, sits up and looks around confused as the phone continues to ring in the distance. Nikki stirs around for a moment still asleep. The Butcher takes his sheet off and gets out of the bed. He stands there naked, except for his boxers looking around the room for the source of the disturbance. His black hair is in a sweaty mess. You see the various scars on his body from his many matches that he will never forget. Finally he finds the phone stashed away in a wooden desk. He opens a drawer and pulls out the phone as it rings for the nineteenth time. Still in a daze The Butcher asks who's on the other line. -|-
The Butcher: Hello? .... The Butcher: Hello? Is anybody there? * heavy breathing *
-|- The sun is rising right over The Butcher's room, blinding him. The Butcher, turns to get the sun out of his eyes, poised to hang up the phone. Finally, a mangled voice is heard on the other end. -|-
Other End: Your career has ended and your life is about to begin. There have been many things that you have done in your life that you regret, and there are many things that you regret not doing.... The Butcher: Who is this?! Other End: Hold your tongue if you wish to ever see your parents again!
-|- The Butcher is taken by silence after hearing this. The last time he saw his parents was when he was 8 years old and he's been searching for them since the day they disappeared. -|-
Other End: Today you will board the gfwa OMEGA ship to Hawaii where you will fly to Japan. From there you will receive another message from me. Do as I say and your 30 year quest will come to an end.
-|- The other end hangs up. -|-
The Butcher: Hello? Are you still there? Hello?! Damn it!
-|- The Butcher hangs up the phone and goes back to bed with his Nikki, who has slept through the whole ordeal. He will not fall back asleep though. He just lies there, gazing at the ceiling, remembering the past. The scene fades to black. After a few moments of the darkness a new scene is shown. This time we are on the gfwa OMEGA ship after the Preview show. There is a party going on aboard the large ship and everyone is happy except The Butcher. He stands near the aft of the large ship in deep thinking. He is still dressed in his tuxedo with his bow tie undone. San Francisco is far out of the scene. All that remains is water. The sun is beginning to set over the vast Pacific. The Butcher remains looking out at the ocean, thinking of the disturbing call this morning. -|-
It happened almost 30 years ago. My parents disappeared off the face of the earth, leaving me with my 6 year old brother. The Harlem police didn't know what happened to them. I doubt their search though. I mean, who would actually look into the disappearance of two people from the only Italian family in Harlem? My brother and I were going to be placed in Social Services where we would be sent to a foster family, probably separated. I was 8 at the time but I knew what was going on. I knew that I would never see my parents again and I was just about to lose my brother too. I couldn't let that happen. I took my brother and we ran. We ran from the Social Services van and went to live on the streets. We did that for a few weeks until we got caught stealing a pizza from a pizza shop by the owner. I told 'Stubby' Sal our story and he took us in as his own children. His wife wanted nothing to do with two strays, so, she left him. I can understand her position. 'Stubby' Sal watched us grow up and helped look into my parents' disappearance. We never did find them. We did find a key witness to what happened that morning though. He said that some black van pulled up to our house that night and there was a bit of a struggle outside. The next day that witness mysteriously disappeared like my parents.
-|- The Butcher turns around to see that his girlfriend Nikki is talking and laughing it up with Max Danger's wife, Jessica. He stands there watching her for a moment as a small grin comes over his face. "She looks good in that blue dress" he thinks to himself. Quickly his grin turns to a frown and he turns around to look at the sliver of the sun that remains over the ocean. As the sun falls out of sight he watches the waves that the boat's propellers are creating. -|-
I love Nikki and I would do anything for her. I haven't really told her about my past that much. I can't tell her. I want to tell to but I can't. I don't want anything to happen to her. I fear for her life. See, the disappearance of the witness was not the only strange thing that happened to a person that knew too much about what was going on. 'Stubby' Sal got into a head on collision in his car two years ago and has been in a coma since that day. Witnesses to the accident told police that the car went right at him and didn't even attempt to get out of the lane. It was sort of like someone was trying to kill him. They never found out who did it because the driver was taken out of the car by a crew of paramedics who arrived on the scene too quickly it appears. They took him and drove off, not even worrying about Sal. The hospital in the area said that no one arrived with any accident related injuries around that time. It's too fishy to me.
-|- The Butcher's thoughts are interrupted by Nikki coming to the end of the boat and watching the waves with him. She leans her head on his shoulder and hugs his right arm tightly. -|-
Nikki: I'm really glad that you talked me into going to Japan with you. The Butcher: .... Nikki: The show was great and the party has been really fun. You should go out there and have a good time. The Butcher: ....
-|- Nikki releases her hold and looks at The Butcher. -|-
Nikki: What's on your mind? The Butcher: ....stuff. Nikki: Like what? The Butcher: I can't tell you. Nikki: Why? The Butcher: It's better that I don't.
-|- The Butcher begins to walk away but Nikki grabs his left hand and stops him from leaving. He turns to her. -|-
Nikki: Does it have something to do with that phone call this morning? The Butcher: How did you know about that? Nikki: You woke me up when you got up.
I really don't want to tell her about my past and the things that have happened to me. But if I do know my Nikki she won't give up until she knows what's going on.
The Butcher: I've got to tell you something but not here. Come with me.
-|- The Butcher leads Nikki past a group of gfwa OMEGA stars. Jose' Jose', Hellz Angel, Jerry Storm and Brad Robinson are all standing there talking, well Jose' Jose' is just sitting there looking like a fool. Hellz Angel notices the couple walk by. -|-
Hellz Angel: Look, The Butcher is just about to get laid! The Butcher: Shut up you dumbass.
-|- The group laughs as Jose' Jose' starts to make humping motions. He gets too carried away and falls over board. A jobber, The GrimReaper, throws him a life preserver and drags him back onto the ship. The Butcher leads Nikki to a private conference room, ignoring all the commotion. He seats her, gets her some water, and then sits down next to her. -|-
The Butcher: You don't know a lot about my past. Nikki: Yeah and I wonder why. Every time I ask you about it you give me the general idea that you were adopted and that's it. You were adopted right? The Butcher: Well, I was sort of. You remember 'Stubby' Sal? He took my brother and I in as his own after we were living on the streets. We were living on the streets because our parents disappeared. The police didn't really look into it, they just sort of shoved it to the side. When I turned 15, Sal and I started to ask around the neighborhood if they saw anything. No one saw anything except one person. He said that a black van drove up the night before they disappeared and my parents were forced to go with them. Well, the next day the witness disappeared. 'Stubby' Sal received many death threats since the day he took us in. Whoever was threatening him burned down his pizza shop twenty years ago. I figure they finally caught up to him when he got into that car accident and was left in a coma.
-|- Nikki remains silent with a concerned look on her face. The Butcher continues. -|-
The Butcher: Every Sunday for the past 20 years I'd receive a call from my brother just to see what I was up to in my wrestling career. Well, three weeks ago he stopped calling. No one knows where he is.
-|- The Butcher goes silent and Nikki looks about ready to say something but she gets interrupted by the ship's caterer. He brings in a large empty cart and sees the couple looking at him. He grins, leaves the cart, and walks out without a word. -|-
The Butcher: You see, I didn't want you to know anything about this because I'm afraid of what might happen to you. Nikki: Who called this morning? The Butcher: I don't know, but they said that they had information about my parents and that I would receive a message from him when I got to Japan. That's why when we get off at Hawaii I need you to go back to New York. I don't want you to get anymore involved with this than you need to. Nikki: No, I'm going to stay with you. I need to know where you are and what you're doing. If whoever is behind this did something to your brother, there's no telling what might happen to you. That's why I'm staying.
-|- The ship captain's voice comes over the P.A. system. He announces that they will be arriving at Hawaii within the hour. You can hear the party cheer downstairs as the scene fades to black. -|-
