~First Impressions~
HOME
I was looking through my notes on Orgy (atleast 20 pages) and I noticed that I had lots of things written about my first impressions. I had tried to include them in the real story section but there were just too many so here it is Platinum Synthetic's FIRST IMPRESSIONS page.
Candyass
I instantly love it but I had also gotten The Downward Spirial the same day. I was in my "Nine Inch Nails is the only band" phase so Candyass didn't spend much time in the cd player.

Vapor Transmission
I was a bit aprehensive with most of the songs. I felt incredibly disappointed with Orgy but Fiction was the best song I'd heard in ages. I started to listen to Opticon and The Odyssey after a week (The 'O' songs, I could never remember the titles of the songs). Then about a month later I realized that there are good songs after track 5.
Fiction (dreams in digital)
I was watching the music channel as usual. A very cool robotic clip came on so I wanted to see who the artist was. When 'Orgy' came onto the screen I cleared everything off the table infront of me so I could get a closer look.
I was unable to talk for hours, I was overwhelmed! It still is one of THE best clips I have ever seen.
Slept So Long
July 1, 2002.
When my life changed forever.

I had heard the song twice on the internet and twice on the movie. My computer speakers aren't great so it was basically the first time that I'd heard Jay sing Slept So Long.
I was listening to the QOTD soundtrack and when Slept So Long came on I rested my head on the stereo (so the speakers were on each side of my head). I was singing away being totally captivated by the song. THEN my head turned the stereo off!
Points Of Authority (remix)
I noticed a 'weird' version of a Linkin Park song was on the radio. (Even though I consider myself as a great LP fan I didn't remember what the song was called.) I did know about Reanimated though. At the end when the DJ was talking about Reanimated being a album of remixes, blah, blah. Then he finally said "that song was Points Of Authority remixed by Jay." I thought "hey that's Mr Jay Orgy to you!"

~~Lightning Floyd~~
I remember when Orgy first came out I thought they were creepy, bad, and un-christian like.  I remember seeing them on the TV and thinking they were another evil metal band and they're all going to hell.  Other than that initial thought I never gave them a 2nd thought as a band until about after their 2nd album came out, I really started to get into them and see the good band they are.
