| "Kaylah, just stay inder the table and don't say anything, until I come back. Ok?" Ryan said to the girl in purple pajamas as he hurried to answer the door. "What do you want?" Ryan asked as he led Jay into the house. "I don't want anything." Jay replied annoyed that his friend would greet him like that. "Well you've never visited me without calling first unless you wanted something." Ryan said with a cheeky smile coming over his face. "I called first." Jay said as he walked over to the answering machine. He pressed the button to retrieve the messages. "See I told you so." Jay said. "Well what's this important thing?" Ryan asked. "Ok, I, ah, sorta." Jay paused longer. "fired-Paige" he said really quickly. "What!" Ryan said choking on his voice from the surprise. "You need a drink, I'll go get you one" Jay said as he went into the kitchen. Jay came back with two drinks and he passed one to Ryan who snatched it out of his hand. Jay opened the other one for himself. "We were going to do this forever and that meant no one could leave and nobody could get fired, even I knew that." Ryan said. "I told you that he had been pissing me off in the last couple of days." Jay replied trying to justify him firing Paige. "No you told me that I had been pissing you off." Ryan said as he walked over to the phone. "I better go and unfire Paige." Ryan said as he picked up the phone. "Hey Paige, its Ryan. I'm unfiring you and as I co-founded this band what I say goes." Ryan said to Paige over the phone. "Oh, so you fired him first. Oh I see." Ryan said listening carefully. Ryan started to nod his head as he agreed to everything Paige had said. "Ok, I'll talk to you later, bye." Ryan said as he put the phone down. "You two both need to grow up." Ryan said to Jay. ""Like you're Mr. Mature." Jay said back. They had a name calling contest for about 5 minutes. Ryan went into the kitchen to get himself another beer. "Do you want another drink?" Ryan called out. Instead of replying Jay walked into the kitchen. He noticed a movement from under the table and bent down to see what it was. "Ryan, you know there's a girl under your table?" Jay asked amazed at his discovery. "I'm his sister." Kaylah replied. "No, she's my neighbor." Ryan said trying to get Jay's attention to get out of the kitchen. They walked outside after they got their beers. "Her names Kaylah and she's got one of those crazy peoples diseases. She invites herself in and won't leave for hours." Ryan explained whispering just incase Kaylah could hear him. "So does she stay under the table the whole time?" Jay said trying to imply that more than what Ryan just said happens. "Yes." Ryan snapped back with. Ryan walked back to the house and saw that Kaylah wasn't under the table. "Oh shit, where the fuck's she gone?" Ryan said as he panic set in. He ran into his bedroom where Kaylah was holding a knife as though she wanted to cut her fingers off. She saw that she had a audience. "I wanted to make myself pretty, blood's pretty. I think having no fingers could be fun too." Kaylah said stuttering and rocking backwards and forwards. "Slowly put the knife down." Ryan told Kaylah as he carefully walked closer to her. She dropped the knife and ran out of the room. "I have to go home now, bye." Kaylah called out as she ran out of the house. "You were going to walk up to her, why would anyone do that?" Jay asked sarcastically. "I saw it in a movie." Ryan answered. "So, how old would she be?" Jay asked. "20, I guess. Why?" Ryan replied as he picked up the knife. "No reason." Jay said as he went back into the living room. "Why don't you kick her out when she comes over?." Jay asked as he closed the front door. "She lives next door with her parents and they are so nice. Like they've never complained about any of my parties or anything. I can handle her being here for a couple of hours." Ryan said as he put back the knife from it's position in the kitchen. There's a knock at the door. "You should get one of those doorbells that play a song, it would make your house a lot more interesting." Jay said from his position leaning against the wall. "Hi Paige, come in." Ryan said as he opened the door. "Is Jay here I really need to apologise to him." Paige said as he looked around the room and then finding Jay. He walked inside past Ryan to sit on the sofa, Jay sat down next to him. "I am so sorry for yelling at you and making you yell at me. Can you please except my apology?" Paige said as he pleaded into Jay's eyes. Their eyes were glued to each others. Jay broke the stare by looking at Ryan and then he looked at Paige again. "I'm sorry too." Jay replied. There was another knock at the door. "Is this place a fucking airport." Ryan said as he stormed over to the door. He opened the door to find a unfamilar girl looking at him. "What!" Ryan said as he got more annoyed by the moment at his latest guest. Paige and Jay wanted to see what was going on. "Hi Kaylah." Paige said as he waved at the girl at the frontdoor. "Hello, Paige." The girl responded. Ryan got out of her way to let her get inside assuming she had followed Paige. Kaylah didn't move. "Hey your Kaylah as in 'Kaylah nextdoor', aren't you?" Ryan said not really sure if it was the correct conclusion. She looked up and nodded. |
