Queen Of The Damned MSN Chat with Jay Gordon.
February 2002.
I have edited the Chat as it also included David Drainman (Disturbed) and Tripp and Wayne (Static X) plus there were also a few things that were only to do with the chat. I also uncensorized it.
If you would like me to send you a whole copy,
email me and a copy of the chat will be sent to you.
Digital Dish Diva says: Hey Jay, welcome to MSN Live!

Orgy's Jay says: What's goin' on?! Glad we're all talkin' to each other.

Los_ANGELes67 asks: Jay, I think you did a GREAT job on "Slept So Long". What is your favorite line from it? Luv ya-Jenn

Orgy's Jay says: There are a couple of them actually. I like the part that says, "Do you think it's cool to walk right up and take my life, and fuck it up? Well did you?" I like the intensity of it. I really dug it.

paige_haley107 asks: Jay, how's it going? What was it like working on the soundtrack?

Orgy's Jay says: It was fun.

Orgy's Jay says: I had a good time. It was good hanging with Jonathan.

Donate_Or_Die asks: Hey Guys! Did you write the songs you perform (like "Not Meant For Me") by yourself? If not who wrote them instead?

Orgy's Jay says: Jonathan did. He wrote every song.

Nataraja_O asks: Is "Sonic" going to be on the new Orgy album?

Orgy's Jay says: I don't know. We might just keep "Sonic" as a live song. We may take a shot at putting it on record. There's a good possibility it will be on the record, we're just not sure yet.

JayandAmir4eva asks: Jay, Orgy has really inspired and influenced my life, is it true that you guys are gonna stop making music after the third album?

Orgy's Jay says: No. I doubt any of us will stop making music at all.

ccxvdfhtgf asks: Why didn't you work with the rest of Orgy for the soundtrack?

Orgy's Jay says: No, not at all. Jonathan called me and asked if I wanted to do the song and I said sure. And that was it. It wasn't that I didn't want the rest of the band to do it, not at all.

"something written in some font I can't do" asks: How did you know what kind of music to make for the soundtrack, considering the movie hadn't been made yet? Did Jon Davis "set the mood" for you, or did you kinda come up with it on your own?

Orgy's Jay says: Jonathan set the mood for everything on that record. We kind of came up with our own melodies and he kept those in. The music was done and ready to go when we walked in the studio. So that was a done deal.

EviLKoRnFReaKO asks: Jay, how would you categorize the music on this soundtrack?

Orgy's Jay says: I think it's very primal. I think he did a brilliant job. I don't know if I could categorize it other than just primal. It's the perfect score. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I don't know how it fits with the film. But I hear the music helps some of the best parts of the film. To categorize it, I'd say somewhat primal. You know what I mean?

coroner1983 asks: Jay, did you get a chance to meet Aaliyah?

Orgy's Jay says: No I didn't. Unfortunately I never did.

SilverchairSteam asks:
Jay, would you guys ever consider doing the soundtrack for a movie in a genre other than horror?

Orgy's Jay says: Oh sure! Certainly. That's something I've always wanted to do as well. There's been a strain on time as far as doing projects like this. For this soundtrack there was only one song, but I would love to do more porjects like this provided I have the time.

Goth_Z㮴hr⠩n asks: What inspires you to play music? ~zanthera~

Orgy's Jay says: I don't know. (laughs) I couldn't really tell you what my source of motivation is. I can say I enjoy doing it. I guess it was when I was a little kid, my dad was in the music business forever, and when I would go to his shows, that did it for me. I loved working in the studios and watching shows.

poor_judgment asks: What would you say is the wildest thing that ever happened at one of your concerts?

Orgy's Jay says:
I'd have to say on the Family Values Tour. It was also my first tour and only touring experience. All the crazy stuff happened on that tour, everything form people diving off balconies. Rammstein caught everything on fire. (laughs) They were just crazy dudes.

Smokinginfant asks: Happy recent birthday! Are you into Vamps and stuff like that at all? What can we expect on the new record?

Orgy's Jay says: I don't know. I haven't really met a vampire.

Orgy's Jay says: That I know of.
