Well you may not know her, you may never know her, but if you did, you would love her.I met this child by coincidence. From the moment I saw her I knew she was special.� She is 11 years old in body however she has a very old soul. Most children Brittany's age are playing dolls and not concerned with the world around them. Brittany on the other hand cares deeply and is trying to make a difference in this world. She has Cystic Fibrosis, this is not the definition of who she is, CF is just part of her life. She is a wonderful child not a victim. Her mother, Cheryl (CC) Cassidy, has done a wonderful job instilling the right attitude of life in this child though life is not always easy. Earlier this year (2000) Brittany took it upon herself to help� raise over (with help from Z100) $1000 for Brandy Stroeder, a young woman in Oregon who needed a lung and liver transplant. There was nothing in it for Brittany except the knowledge that might be able to help Brandy. Brittany has taught my own child about choices, "Is this a good choice? Will this make life better for someone else?" Brittany is an Indigo Child every step of the way, a beautiful soul that is here to make life better for those that know her. Meeting her is nothing short of a spiritual experiance. Recently I learned that Brittany needs a ThAIRpy vest. This is to help her breathe easier. This aid is very expensive and her family cannot afford to buy one for her though she needs one so desperately.. I chose to spread the word about Brittany and urge people around the world to help her raise the money she needs for this device. When I told her what I was doing she only had one request. She asked that if we managed to raise more money than she needed to please start a CF Foundation for families of CF to receive money for the medical bills and devices that they too need and deserve. There is a CF foundation but it only collects money for research, a wonderful thing. However there are many families that cannot bear the costs of medical needs on their own. Insurance can't cover everything, we understand that. While Brittany is a normal child that thinks of herself she also cares a great deal about others and attempts to do what she can for others, thinking of their lives and needs. Z100 (a radio station in Portland OR) has� a program called Salmon Claus, created to help needy families in our area. Brittany is on that list.� Z100 also started an� account at USBANK in the name of Brittany Cassidy to help her raise the money she needs for her ThAIRpy vest, her mother Cheryl (CC) Cassidy has lovingly nicknamed it the Angel Account. Let's make Brittany's wish come true. Can we all find it in our hearts to help this child buy her ThAIRpy vest and raise money for other CF families, to make their lives a little easier.
