The weight of the world
Bearing down on these timid shoulders
What tumultuous sorrow -
O Atlas! I plead for even a portion
Of your eternal strength and endurance
To make it through the day
Don't you know -
I would have given buckets
Of blood, sweat and tears for them?
Something's awfully wrong here -
I think I have.
Come a little closer now
Take a little look inside
Beneath my tongue
Sits a delirious purple whisper
A word for the people!
Too bad my brain's a little busy
Chalk it up to disillusionment
Maybe lying is the only way to stand
I want to be brave,
To withstand this test of devotion
Or whatever it is -
Something's awfully wrong here -
I have, I have!
Heroes go to war
Silly girl -
Peace is for cowards. |
