Welcome to my heart.
Inefficient

Inefficient
My mind would be if it were
A filing cabinet
These memories so out of place
When I am looking for the name of that colour
Kinda like red, more like purple
Sounds like placenta
This is when I remember you
Weird, random and sometimes absurd
This is when I remember you

You loved dinosaurs, eating tomatoes whole
Talking about science teachers and being pregnant
Drawing the morbid with mechanical pencils
Poking my arm with your pointy finger
This is how I remember you

Sometimes-

Before-
It was always
The extreme sadness, the depression
The bitter cold stares
The incomprehensible anger toward
Society and the propriety of congeniality
The way you always sided with my mother
That I could never forget-

When I remember you

Inefficient
My mind is
When I have managed to filter you from it
Nearly successfully these past years
Until now
When I am faced with having to face you
The reality of it all comes rushing forth
Do I venture, do I remain?

Never mind.

I remember it now-

Magenta!
